(18,342 posts)Nobody will give credit to Biden for fulfilling his pledge since the initial punishment was a suspension and the wokists on social media will still be laying down the sanctimony.
If Im him though Id rather spend my final days about as far away from American politics as possible. Hard to imagine a more dreary exit from this world than that serving as the backdrop.

What he said was just silly, too, how was he going to ruin that reporter? It's like they are taking it literally.
And why is that reporter going on about his dating life? Is it really such an important matter?

(9,282 posts)Ducklo should have been rapidly and quietly shown the door after the initial report followed up by fact checking and a frank talk. Perhaps this is what happened in all the other hullabaloo in DC, just conclude the separation of Ducklo from Biden WH could not have occurred fast enough.
I have been impressed and very happy with Jen Psaki as Press Secretary. Every such position needs a strong and deep bench.
We need focus, unity, and no BS.

(11,532 posts)Joe Biden set the markers on Day 1: respect, transparency. Though I sympathize with someone so gravely ill; sometimes heavy-duty meds can set you off. Still, the man's remarks/threat couldn't be dismissed. All this to hide a ongoing relationship with another journalist. Too bad. From what I read before this brouhaha, he was a very effective communication/election guy for Biden.
Is what it is.

(7,555 posts)there are always going to be exceptions. Stage IV cancer makes one rethink taking someone's job and healthcare away from them for a minute. Doesn't excuse what the guy did, but it underscores why "No ifs, ands or buts" is never a good idea when dealing with humans. There are always going to be exceptions and extenuating circumstances.

(31,261 posts)Given that President Bidens son Beau died of cancer after a fight, maybe staff under President Biden went soft on the guy. I can see that given how difficult the guys condition is. But your point is valid, I just believe that once people know the facts about the guys medical condition, they may understand why a fast trigger was not pulled on him.

Jan 2021 ~
Nashville native TJ Ducklo has been named as President-elect Joe Biden's deputy press secretary.
The Biden-Harris Transition team announced Ducklo's new role in a news release on Friday, which detailed roles in the new administration's communications, press, photo and digital strategy teams.
Ducklo currently serves as the spokesperson for the transition, and also worked as the Biden campaign's national press secretary.
Speaking honestly, with empathy and directly to the public about our administration will be among the key pillars in this Presidency and White House," Biden said in the release. "At a time when American families are facing numerous challenges, these appointees will strengthen our administrations ability to convey information to the American people and be integral in our teams efforts to build our nation back better."
Ducklo, 32, has juggled the demands of the campaign and transition with treatment for stage 4 lung cancer.
TJ DUCKLO: Nashville native goes from student council president to Joe Biden's presidential campaign
Inside the Belmont Presidential Debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden
In October, as he prepared for the second and final presidential debate at Belmont University in Nashville, he was taking four pills twice a day to treat his cancer, which spread from his lungs to his bones, liver and gallbladder. The gene-targeted treatment, which sidesteps some of the harsher side effects of traditional chemotherapy, allowed him to stay on the campaign trail with his boss.
In phone interviews in October, Ducklo said there is no place he'd rather be.
The searing urgency of the Biden campaign pushed him past the fear, anxiety and uncertainty that comes with an advanced cancer diagnosis.
"It was part of how I dealt with it," Ducklo said. "I believed in the work I was doing, and I believed in the vice president. I wasnt going to let being sick keep me from doing what I wanted to do."

So as Lizzo slithered out from under his Firing from NY Magazine for a sex scandal, he rebuilt his creds by going to work for Politico & digging for a story he could redeem himself, via his girlfriend Olivia, and zeroed right in on scooping a damning report of all that's wrong with the Biden Admin.
Way to go Lizzo! Celebrate your success today.
TJ , in his short career as Student Council President, to the Biden/Harris campaign, to Deputy Press Sec for the President of the USA is more honorable & admirable than the low life scrub of dirty political 'gotcha' scandal scoops you call journalism.
You crawled over Ducklo, the guy with stage 4 cancer, to once again "Absolutely Prove" that the Biden admin was inept.
*Big F to You Olivia & your bff sleazy Lizzo.
Inside baseball DC press corps cocktail party circuit gossip of no relevance to anyone, though he handled it poorly.

(15,325 posts)He was looking for a dirt scoop on the Biden admin.
Ya know, since Lizzo's been selling the same mantra of "Biden's the SaMe as Trump" as those who hauled out the Tara Reade fiasco.
This is the circle of shitty journos that emerge from Politico.
Lizzo's redemption ~ from fired at NY Magazine for a sex scandal, to Politico.
"Hard hitting" and all..
He wasn't after TJ as much as he was out to manufacture a derrogatory scoop on the Biden Admin.
Which is what Lizzo has always done.
End of story.

While Id usually try to avoid thinking about a woman my age being with a guy who is old enough to be her father, it was impossible when CNNs Brian Stelter got a SCOOP like this:"
This is the world Lizzo & Olivia exist in.
Anyone think they gave 2 shits about dragging the guy dying of stage 4 cancer, to manufacture a dirt scoop on Biden/Harris Admin?
