I'm shaking at what just happened!
A stupid reading of an already public statement!
They passed a motion to call witnesses and then didn't call witnesses!
That testimony would have been extremely embarrassing for Republicans.
Today's process makes it look like Democrats caved to Republican threats. Republicans will be laughing about this for weeks.
I'm ENRAGED!

(11,801 posts)I dont want to have to listen to that Orange Anus Mouth crowing about being exonerated again!!!
My God, Ted Lieu is right if he can run again, were all stuck in this nightmare ... no end. His fans can just keep believing Biden isnt legitimate and can terrorize us forever. I AM SICK OF CARING about what his sycophants think. LIBERATE AMERICA from this vampire!!!!!!

(17,381 posts)crowing about being exonerated again. There is no way they will convict him.
Even those to claim to despise him actually love his beliefs, the only thing they don't like is that he is too open about them for their tastes.
Even Romney agrees with all of it. He just prefers it to be more veiled or it is "unseemly".

(6,613 posts)I would prefer live testimony but you'll hear it referred to as evidence throughout the day during argument. Otherwise reference to such evidence would be objectionable and inadmissible

We got what we wanted, The admission of this testimony into the record is an admission of guilt by Donald tRump.
That is what we wanted., and we got it.
So take the vote and let's hang it around their necks, without letting them turn this into a shit show.
Just MHO.

(121,378 posts)Their threat to call witnesses was playing chicken with Trump's lawyers, and Trump's lawyers blinked. Live witnesses would have devolved into a circus with Trump's lawyers doing performative cross-examination for the benefit of their audience to no benefit to the prosecution. They got a stipulation to crucial facts. Give the House team a little credit, you're watching some of the best lawyers on the planet. They know what they're doing.

(51,205 posts)have been the same. Our best moves at this point are to get this over with, get Biden's agenda passed and work like hell to beat every Trumplican running for office in 2022.

Witnesses are needed. We cant just get on with it.

(51,205 posts)Trump will go on tour with a continuation of his stolen election/donate-to-me propaganda, only now it will have an added touch. He'll beat the drum that Joe is a fake president and act like a ruler in exile. All the while, Mitch and his merry band of whiners will oppose everything and anything Democrats propose. They use "unity" against us as a weapon - they always have - and if we fall for it this time we're fools. I think Joe gets this having witnessed the Obama years up close. Obama would give up all kinds of things to compromise and then Republicans would vote against it anyway. Joe has already shown them the door on the Covid-19 slash and burn proposal they came up with. You could have a hundred witnesses on each side and draw this out for Biden's entire term and the GOP would still vote to vindicate Trump.
