(7,781 posts)It was unplanned; I happened to be at the drug store chatting with the pharmacist and she asked if I wanted a shot right now. There must have been some no-shows.

(37,872 posts)Then I read an article in the newspaper that highlighted a FaceBook group dedicated to helping people find vaccinations. I don't have an account, but was able to read the comments. Due to one of the comments, I found out when my health department entered appointment times into the system. Score! I hope you find one soon.

(7,927 posts)I had heard about a Facebook group, but, like you, don't do FB. So, good to know I can read it anyway.
I had learned about an app that someone wrote to use with the Telegram texting app, called BayAreaVaccineNotification, but turns out it doesn't cover my area a bit further north (Sonoma). Nice app for those it covers, though (I should post an OP about it actually).

(5,811 posts)However, we will not be fully vaccinated until 14 days after receiving the second dose. We will be fully vaccinated on April 8th. For this reason, we are still sheltering in place. We have all groceries, medications, and other purchases delivered. WE do not entertain anyone in our home. We consider Americans to be extremely dangerous due to their lack of regard for others. For this reason, we will continue to avoid enclosed public spaces like stores or city hall r senior service centers.
With that said we hope to purchase plumbing and electrical services, window treatment services, installation of new appliances. We would like to wait until 30 days after vaccines are open to everyone in California.
