NEW: The @NewYorkStateAG investigation into the Trump Organization is no longer purely civil.
We are now actively investigating the Trump Organization in a criminal capacity, along with the Manhattan DA, a spokesman told CNN.

(20,200 posts)It gives the NY AG an end around the SEC. For that reason, some say it's unconstitutional. I see a huge court fight on the horizon if this is true. They'll break Trump with legal costs, but I guess he can always have more fund raisers.
Justice matters.

(20,200 posts)what they have on the Orange Blob. Proving intent to defraud can be a little sphincter tightening, but I have confidence in Letitia James, our NYS Attorney General. She doesn't draw, shoot, then aim. She must have DJT dead in her sights right now.

(38,726 posts)As usual Trump doesn't have a clue..Sheriff James will end up costing Trump his fortune, his freedom and more.
I don't know what she knows, but she is a straight shooter, and tells the truth.. The "Truth" is an idea completely
foreign to DJT.
I am also worried about the coming popcorn shortage.....got a box?...
Yes, I have stored some boxes of popcorn, but I need more...Anybody got a few boxes of popcorn?

(13,333 posts)Im sure Trump and his spawn who run Trump Organization have committed more crimes than most of us could even imagine. If all they can nail them on is tax fraud, that helps. Im sure money laundering for Russian mobsters might be too hard to prove, but it sure would be sweet to see.

The Martin Act further empowers New York Attorney General's to conduct investigations into fraudulent practices.

Andrew Weissmann told Lawrence this act is mostly about empowering the NYAG to prosecute securities fraud as Elliot Spitzer did but it also covers real estate.

(33 posts)This is great! Can't wait until the entire mobbed up trumpthugian family turns on one another and swears that they have never heard of, nor met any of the other members of their family, and Melania will suddenly decide she needs to take a midnight trip back to Slovenia! Of course, trumPutin himself has a fleet of buses gassed up and idling at the curb in the ready to throw the entire lot under the tires. lol
