Did Kevin McCarthy nominate persons for the Select Committee who had requested pardons from the alleged leader of the coup?

(57,086 posts)disruptive (of course the Speaker wisely refused to seat those a-holes on the committee). I don't know if Jordan asked for a pardon.

(15,667 posts)Speaker Pelosi only rejected two of them - Jordan and Banks. He could have had the other two on the committee, but he threw a temper tantrum and said NO!
Problem is, without anybody on that committee right now, he doesn't have anyone to slip information to him so he knows what's coming. Cheney and Kinsinger certainly won't talk to him.
So because of his own hubris, he's flying blind.
Sucks to be you, Kev!
Oh, and you're never gonna be Speaker of the House.

(22,814 posts)Remember that when the Chamber was being evacuated, Jordan put his hand on Liz Cheneys back and pushed her towards the door and she said words to the effect of, Get your hands off of me! You fucking started this!
Im confident that Jordan, Bobert, Greene, Gaetz, and others are on that list of pardon requests. Every single one of them is a coward and a traderorus bastard.

(1,431 posts)I dont think he would have asked for a pardon, because as far as I know he was not part of the protests, just a Trump supporter.
He is the Congressman for my district.

(3,448 posts)Did any of these persons who McCarthy nominated to the Committee seek a Presidential pardon for attempting to overturn the election:
Jim Jordan (OH)
Jim Banks (IN)
Rodney Davis (IL)
Kelly Armstrong (ND)
Troy Nehls (TX)
**On edit: Armstrong disclaimed any authority by Congress to tamper with the electoral count.
**On edit: Davis voted with Democrats to establish the January 6 Committee to investigate the attack on the Capitol.

(12,904 posts)Because he was looking to appoint someone who could feed him information about the committees actions.
So, yeah
whoever he tried to appoint was already spoiled.
