Have a 92 yr old friend from the south that I think was stuck with one of those types. Raised with the idea her only option was dutiful
wife and mom. She had 3 sons and a 30 year marriage.

My friend told me the first month she realized it was bait and switch. She decided her best option would be just give him what he wanted and let the good lord take care of the rest. He died at 52. She's had 43 years to do what she damn well pleases and raised 3 sons to do better.
