(595 posts)I like Reich a lot. He is smart and on target, as usual.

(24,789 posts)are the counts, dukes, earls, and barons of the Middle Ages. They protect their holdings through the laws passed by their hired politicians and expect the general population to serve them and pay homage to them.
Their gated communities are castle fortresses. Media and law enforcement are their servants.

A little discussion would be nice. That shitpile of a site takes forever to load.
While I'd like to know his advice, I might not live long enough for all that stuff to load.

Thanks for not bothering to take the time to post some real content instead of cut-n-paste links.

(113,131 posts)There's a reason my account died of neglect.
It does take forever to load all their crap before any post loads. If it's not video, I tend to skip it if posters can't be bothered to put in text or discussion.

(7,271 posts)I've seen estimates of up to 1/3. He's losing money so fast he can't pay the bills. So, depending on your ISP, where you are in their distribution network, & your connection type (fiber, I presume?) Twitter might have gotten significantly slower for you over the past few months.

(113,131 posts)I wondered about shutting their servers down because it has gotten worse.
It's one reason I bark at people who post a whole line of links and no content, that and the fact that by the time they post the last link, the first one generally doesn't work any more.
If you're going to copy and paste a link, why not copy and paste the text, especially if you don't want to comment on it?

(70,622 posts)If I use Chrome, I see the tweets.
If I use DuckDuckGo, I don't. Since star members don't see ads at DU, I use Chrome for that. DDG to block ads & pop ups for everything else.
I'm asking because I'm curious as to why the tweets pop up on one browser but not the other. Maybe the sane thing is happening to you!

(39,060 posts)I've specifically blocked all things twitter because it irritates me.
If I click on a twitter link I get an "Are you sure you want to go there?" message. If I say "yes" it opens in an incognito window.
Twitter doesn't like to serve embedded content if certain privacy features are enabled, as they are in the DuckDuckGo browser extension.

(64,328 posts)is their utter inability to frame a message. Republikkkans distill their ideas down to five-syllable soundbytes, to which Democrats reply with five-page treatises on the state of things, with extensive footnotes, endnotes, vague citations and oblique allusions to previous statements.
Democratic ideals are simply better and are universally more popular than the Republikkkan agenda, but Dems have no ability to crystalize their platform in any way that resonates with people.
Orrex
(64,328 posts)Is that Republikkkan drones "spontaneously" start parroting the same talking points, all of them insisting that they don't watch Fux Noise or suckle at any other Reichwing propaganda nozzles, yet they all regurgitate the same bullshit more or less verbatim.
Either they all really do have just one tiny brain among them (a likely possibility), or they are in fact getting their marching orders from their KKKonservative hate media and dutifully bleating their nonsense into the ether.
I'm not one for censoring unpleasant speech, but would it be asking too much to staple KKKonservatives' lips shut and super glue their fingers together for a few decades?

By the way, a tax of up to 5% on the worlds multi-millionaires and billionaires could raise $1.7 trillion/year.
That would be enough to lift 2 billion people out of poverty and fund a global plan to end hunger.
We can't afford NOT to tax the rich.

It may be true, but Uncle Sam has no right to tax the world's ultra-wealthy. Our government can only tax America's wealthiest, and they SHOULD be willing to pay their fair share. It's due to Uncle Sam's wealth redistribution policies for the last 40 years that has made these people incredibly rich. A 5% tax on their wealth would be only fair.
