If they're really sick of him - they'll also agree with Colorado and deny ballot access.
Once the wannabe dictator is out of the picture, they'll get back to their real work -- turning the country into a conservative religious oligarchy (but not a dictatorship).

(11,474 posts)If he gains power again, then their own power is threatened. They'll have to appease him on every ruling.
If he can't run, they can continue to legislate from the bench and maintain their power.
Right now, they have the power to completely shut him out. I suspect they might do that to save themselves grief down the road.
