(15,032 posts)He's got a 50/50 chance at the White House and all the revenge and grifting he can do...
Plus it wouldn't benefit him much.

(16,128 posts)Or does the question assume someone is going to piss their life away to coordinate such an attempt on his behalf?

(14,451 posts)DOJ might look the other way if they encounter evidence of his attempt to flee
Runningdawg
(4,589 posts)But I think before then his cult are going to attempt, as I heard one MAGAt say, purge the (judicial) benches. It's all about the revenge and they are eating it up. He won't flee that kind of worship.

(55,825 posts)He won't want to leave that.
He needs his narcissistic fix.

(65,905 posts)Narcissistic fix, I was watching Joy Reid last night and she went back to when the orange slobfather has been groomed by Russia for 40 years. He went to Russia with Ivana and he was given so much flattery, that they noticed that he could manipulated as a Russian asset, also he was thinking about running in 1988. He was already downing NATO too. If you get a chance to watch the Joy Reid clips do, unless you already knew his story. 40 years!!!!!!!!

(55,825 posts)Because he is such a narcissist, flattery will go a long way with him.
You can manipulate him by telling him how wonderful, smart and handsome he is etc.
He is especially vulnerable when it comes to important and very rich people, powerful people flattering him.
It is apparent that both of Trump's parents thought Trump was worthless.
So he craves attention and praise by father figures.
Because he is a ruthless, greedy, sociopath with no moral core, you can get him to do all kinds of illegal and ethical things.
His greed means that he'll respond to cash gifts quite well.
He also delights in breaking the rules and the law. He thinks only suckers and losers follow the rules.
He is also a sadist and loves being cruel and hurting people.
Dividing the US, causing violence, causing deaths, is fun for him.
And also brings in more adoration, cash donations, votes.
So yes he is a perfect dream of a Russian asset from the Russian point of view.
I think it's been quite obvious for some time that Trump is a long time Russian asset. They've been giving him money for years. Even one of his sons some years back said they were getting a lot of Russian money when American banks would no longer give them loans.
Then if you ask who benefits the most from trumps behavior, the question is answered. Certainly America and American citizens do not benefit in any way by trumps behavior. His behavior benefits are enemies

(65,905 posts)cult members just "woke" up (but they are to addicted to him) or what they call "cognitive dissonance."
If they stopped "worshipping" him he probably breakdown. If that could happen.....sigh.

(20,198 posts)But once he's facing some real prison time, all bets are off. I think he'll flee to the Arabian peninsula, since there's no extradition treaty with the U.S. there, and Putin would have no more use of him by that time.

(13,808 posts)plans to slink away in darkness and fly out, either to the shelter of the Saudis or the russians, once the election results are announced. The free world will not have him. For a crook whose willing to raise an insurrection to stay in power, he's not one to be constrained by the rule of law and be thrown in jail or be reduced to a common criminal.

(14,262 posts)But honestly, unless he in in the White House, he's useless. Only Trump cultists don't know this.
bdamomma
(65,905 posts)but if he did, I would strip him from being a US citizen, take his passport away from him. But don't these wanna-bes usually meet their fate in other ways.

(46,561 posts)So, no, he won't flee because he will always think he's about to turn it around and convince everyone that's he's right about everything. There is no recognition of anyone else's point of view in his personality. There is only him.
Despite what has happened I don't think any part of him believes he is actually in danger. I think he still believes he'll be elected president and between that and endless delays and appeals he'll be able to worm out of prison. and his rubes will just pay off any fines he has.

(7,176 posts)the trial on March 25th. Most commentators are saying that he won't be sentenced to jail because it's his first offense, but there is no guarantee. Usually, you get convicted, you get sentenced, and you get handcuffed by court bailiffs and hauled away.
This could happen shortly. So, I think that he has to consider how well he will do in jail. He may pay lip service to "never surrender" and operating from the confines of a jail cell, but he can't guarantee that he'll get house arrest.
I am suspicious of Tucker's recent little excursion to visit Putin. Something may happen around this next trial. A second coup? A quick trip out of the country? He has the means to make something happen.
It would be in the best interests of the country for him to flee. Hell, we should pack his bags for him and put him on a cruise ship to the Caribbean. Maybe he'll slip on down to Venezuela.
Wherever he goes, he will no longer be our problem. And he will find out there is real danger in the world. He's gonna miss us.

(1,859 posts)When he stops being a useful asset he will get dropped. I guess he might be useful to another country in some way but only Russia would be able to react to American pressure after Trump goes there. Never forget he is still responsible for missing classified information. Where is it? And why in the everloving fuck is not sitting in a fucking cell? Personally I think he never sees the inside of a jail cell. I dont think our justice system has the gumption to lock him up. Like Nixon it would be too traumatic for the nation. I think the worst he gets is house monitoring or whatever is less than house arrest. Its weird there is so much worry about not restricting him from running or making a living but millions sit in jail awaiting trial and nobody gives a fuck about them. Yeah, he gets special treatment
