(5,458 posts)Trump's statement just now wasn't new material. Just the same old talking points, presented in a dull manner. I guess that authoritarians prefer to just pound the same old simple points over and over. No nuance, no fancy reasoning to appeal to the brain, just the same old fodder to appeal to the gut.

(17,563 posts)Rambling on and on like it was the same old schtick he uses at his rallies. Oh, and how many times did he have to say "disgrace"? He's an imbecile and now he's an imbecile and a convicted felon. We need to keep hammering that phrase home until election day.

(23,674 posts)Seeing polls that about 5% at least of people will leave drumpf for Biden if he is convicted. In a race that was going either way depending on what poll you believe, he has no margin to lose 5%. He's screwed

Everything we can think of which would lead TSF to worry about dying in prison, spreading it everywhere 24/7,
hinting his only out was to flee to Russia. Maybe he'll take the bait.

(1,878 posts)to prevent convicted felons from that state from voting in the presidential election. When the firm auditing the process pointed out that some of the people in Florida who had similar names to the Texas felons weren't actually the same people (different dates of birth, SS#'s, etc.), Katherine Harris ordered that those Florida voters be removed from the rolls anyway.
I suspect that the state will be far more lenient with the out of state felon concept when Trump votes from Mar a Lago in November.
If he gets probation, Florida will allow him to vote--because NY allows convicted felons on probation to vote.
Welcome to reality.

(11,144 posts)I have always believed that two things are certain in November...
1) Trump loses by a bigger than last time margin
2) Trump flees the USA that night and seeks asylum in Russia offering security secrets as an inducement to Putin...
Change all the codes, shuffle all the intel agents and get undercovers out of the field, we're gonna have a runner like no one has ever seen before...

(32,941 posts)"Trump could be sentenced to home detention, where he would wear an ankle bracelet and be monitored rather than be going to jail."
"A home detention sentence, which walks a middle ground between no punishment and a stint in state prison, might be the most likely outcome.
It would also satisfy Trump's unusual security and political situation."

(3,213 posts)The entire rest of his life is gonna be controlled by others. No more flying off to Monaco or cheating on golf. He's gonna have to stay home. Every day. Until he dies. Every day. No roadtrips. Visitors will also be searched, must be identified and logged and for a limited time daily. His home will be regularly searched and tossed. Unannounced searches. It's not just gonna be a staycation. Food might be better but he has to pay for it. If he's wiped out financially, he'll lose Marbled Legos.
Not good enough, but it's the start we got.

But, unanimous guilt on all 34 counts in only two days of deliberations?

(442 posts)Well, most likely he will not do any prison time, but this changes the rest of his feeble shit stained life. A convicted felon tends to sting when attached to his name.
Its not over for him either. With trials coming up in Georgia, Florida, and DC, he will have this pile up. I am extremely happy, not because of the embarrassment of this situation, but because with all the MAGA, Libtard, fuck them, hate them
.blah, blah Biden this Trump that, it was PROVEN
