(25,650 posts)corporate greed.
Lots of voters are going to blame President Biden for corporate greed and don't realize or understand that the republicans, manchin and sinema have caused the price of everything to skyrocket.
This is what might destroy us.

(16,385 posts)This doesnt mean everyone got a raise but it means for most people, theyre still coming out ahead. Inflation is partially caused by corporate greed but theres really nothing Biden can do, especially with an unfriendly Congress.

(26,168 posts)I have never seen a Sharknado film, but they had me at "time travel's risky, but..." 😆 That and a cameo from Leslie Jordan, bless his socks. I adored that man and miss him so.

They were so OTT that you just had to laugh at the absurdity. But then that is what makes the classic parody (like the "Airplane" and "Naked Gun" series). There were a bunch of cameos in that last Sharknado (including Al Roker).

(55,334 posts)Trump left the the whole economy so wrecked with covid that demand left has prices all the way down to $2.11/gallon in November 2020.
A year earlier, Nov 2019 gas was at $2.59 a gallon, nearly a dollar less than today ($3.46), but equal to $3.13 when adjusted for inflation to May 2024.
Of course that lower price under Trump was still demand-driven, and the US economy was in a mild recession for all of 2019, mostly driven by Trump's entirely optional trade war with China.
Sorry to nitpick, but remembering economics right is a thing with me
Think. Again.

(22,125 posts)Economy is clicking along after a galactic downturn due to Covid. People have jobs. Prices have started to stabilize and decline. And all we hear is bitching. I swear. Sometimes I think we're a race of nitwits and scoundrels. Nothing more. Drives me fucking nuts. Maybe Americans deserve what they may very well get. Serves the jackasses right.
