(13,787 posts)I never blinked or hesitated that Biden is going to win a second term Presidency in November.... SHAME on CNN as they failed miserably as a debate format.... No debate happened...just an ongoing 2 minute rants of tRump stump speech lies wherein he never addressed the question under fact checking...
CNN failed. Never let them host a debater again..... Biden offered facts in reality....Biden won the debate based upon what he said....not how he said it.

(18,325 posts)Pundit, you know where it was Ari Melber Friday night. I have never seen such blatant hysteria coming out of his mouth.
Not one word about how Trump lied, called names for the whole hour and a half. I had to turn him off. Never again, Ari will I ever watch you..
As one person said, I would vote for Biden if he was on his death bed.

(5,410 posts)most of whom never ran for or were elected to anything, and frankly who do NOT HAVE A VOTE OR VETO on whether President Biden will be our nominee.
They are entitled to their "concern", but frankly they should show a little more "concern" about the fact that the Republican party is about to nominate a convicted felon, rapist, pathological serial liar and a man who has promised to be "a dictator on day one", and 'cancel the Constitution' whenever it suits him, ANY ONE of those things which in the latter 20th century would have brought instant and nearly universal calls for HIM to withdraw from the race---
and practically none of them have done that.... so what happened to their "bothsiderism" on THIS issue?
They seem to have forgotten it in their rush to join the feeding frenzy.

(19,023 posts)The question will dominate until at least tomorrow, when SCOTUS releases the immunity ruling, and may yet still continue until Trump is sentenced on July 11, or until Biden announces a firm final decision on the question.
The media feeding frenzy wont help either. My sense is it will continue to dominate the news, and DUs attention unless/until:
1) Biden announces he is withdrawing as the nominee, which will touch off a whos next? Frenzy
2) Trump is sentenced to prison time on July 11
3) a major natural disaster/terrorist attack hits the US
Its distressing, and the medias complicity is despicable, but that is the reality of the situation.

(90,531 posts)...but how we respond to those fears.
Fiendish Thingy
(19,023 posts)The media, led by the NYT, is in full on FUD mode (fear, uncertainty, doubt), just as they were with but her emails.
There are tough realities that we must face, but the meaning we give to those realities should be of our choosing, not the medias.

(11,554 posts)The day after the debate Joe Biden was right back on the campaign trail with his Scranton Joe demeanor, knocked down a peg but GETTING BACK UP.
Be a Joe Biden.
We have a Republic to save and a candidate who does NOT give up. The man has had our back throughout his tenure. Now it's time that we have his back, hold the line and push forward.

(6,201 posts)and they are hell bend on getting Trump back in. That's what we're fighting against.
Notice that the experienced, popular, well spoken Democrats, in the form of Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, Gavin Newsome, and a whole lot of others, are self-controlled, not calling for Biden to step down and holding things together. Why don't we listen to them instead of this news media garbage they've been spouting since the first time Biden ran.

(23,696 posts)I am just up to my eyebrows with the whiners about how President Biden did not meet their expectations of a debate.
They are going to whine us right into another 4 years of the Trump gang.. And I have looked, and the same people who are hyperventilating about Bidens debate (Jesus bigtree I just can't believe this) pretty much were not in Bidens corner 4 years ago.. just saying

(3,978 posts)Even if he is as they say, this term is lightyears better than the last one. And inflation is caused by the wealthy keeping their own profits at record levels. Inflation is the result of decades of regressive policies. Joe's team can run our country off Biden's notebook better than T45 ever could.

(19,816 posts)In the grand scheme, Thursday night was meaningless. And what passes for journalism these days will, in short order, be off belaboring something else that's equally meaningless. To think, people get paid big bucks for such bullshit. Borrowing a line from Don Henley, ignore the "bubble headed bleach blonde who comes on at 5."

(6,325 posts)election loss, Ginsburgs death, and a 6-3 SCOTUS, then the Dobbs decision, seems nothing comes easy to Dems. The shock of Bidens initial debate performance brought back all those gut wrenching feelings. While I felt gut punched, I never showed it and never wavered on Biden. But alls good. I pray for a Republican wipe out so we can start fighting back at SCOTUS.

(6,201 posts)We are the ones giving the Republicans all the critical comments they need. They don't have to make them up or quote Republicans, they can quote Democrats.
