"SNIP..........

* Health insurance premium subsidies expire at the end of 2025

* Higher costs make hard choices for Republican tax-writers

Conservatives, fighting for tax cuts, are building a case for letting Obamacare’s premium tax credits expire next year, potentially leaving nearly 4 million people uninsured.

People in low-to-moderate income households can get a refundable tax credit to buy health insurance through Affordable Care Act marketplaces, a provision Democrats expanded in 2021. The following year, Democrats extended the expansion through the end of 2025. President Joe Biden has called for making the expanded tax credit permanent to avoid driving up insurance premium costs that could increase the number of people in the US going without health coverage.

The credits’ expiration aligns with lapses of many individual income tax cuts in the 2017 GOP-led tax law, tying one issue Republicans want to talk about with one they’d rather avoid.

I've been receiving those subsidies and without them I couldn't save anything for retirement. My healthcare premiums would skyrocket, and if my rent went up I couldn't make it. Republicans never complain about billions in tax cuts for the millionaires and billionaires, though. Why the fuck are we working people supporting THEM?

on someone's losing healthcare story, made me jump from supporting Biden to Bernie Sanders on the 2020 nomination race. Healthcare is funddamental. Of course I went back to Biden when I realized he had the best chance to win. And Biden has done lots for healthcare in the last 4 years. Healthcare is such a fundamental issue to people you may convince a MAGA or a multitude to vote Democratic with your story. More than a few of them may be in your exact situation but not know that the subsidies could be destroyed by Trump. Make this your meme of this 2024 election and bring it to swing state forums.
