Trump is highly unpopular and nobody wanted a 2020 rematch, if you believe polling.
This is an opportunity for Democrats to reset the balance of the campaign and inject youth at the top of the ticket.
It's not to the time to be mad that Joe isn't going to serve a 2nd term (ending when he's closer to 90 than 80.... It's time to rally and prevent a 2nd Trump Presidency.

(4,931 posts)GOP is about to launch a bunch of lawsuits, this will be nothing but a cluster fuck
Whoever is the new person will start with ZERO CASH, ZERO GROUND GAME. Joe can not transfer ANY donations to a new candidate, he could only legally transfer money AFTER he's was the official nominee
Not all States abides by DNC rules on who the candidate is, here are just a few
Nevada:
Nevada does not allow a candidate to be replaced after the fourth Friday of June. Oops. We missed that deadline. If Biden drops out, there go all of the Dem votes for that state. Biden would be left on the Nevada ballot, and we just would not have a running Dem on the ballot there.
Georgia:
Georgia allows a candidate to withdraw from the ballot up to 60 days prior to the election. However, no new candidate will be placed on the ballot and all votes for the withdrawn candidate will not be counted towards a new candidate. There go all the votes for Biden.
Wisconsin:
Wisconsin only allows for death to remove a candidate from the ballot.

(1,596 posts)Could we see a new influx of donations, attention to our convention, a Harris-Trump debate, a VP from a battleground state, etc.? Could this awful experience be an opportunity?

(1,286 posts)This race was highly unpopular. People wanted something else and now we are giving it to them.
Trump is very unpopular, but we couldn't capitalize because Joe was underwater too.
