The thought of Biden dropping out, scared the shit out of me. After all, Kamala's approval rating was lower than Joes.

Sunday afternoon: (Thought bubble) "We're fucked."

Monday night, I sent an email to my friends, headed, "WE'VE WON !"

What changed for me? Her energy level. It is reflected in how people stand, walk, talk ---- present. Other people have had it. Janis Joplin did, not just onstage. Hunter Thompson did. JKF did. Some of my friends do, but not at such a high level.

Kamala has an energy level that she hasn't shown to the public before now. Add to that, a plan for the future and correcting past Republican damage.

Compare that with Trump. Behind a sound track of New Age music, you get a shuffling old man, droning on about lost election, ridiculing people and falling asleep on camera. In courtroom, at HIS convention. Oh, And then he added Vance to the equation. (Cue Nelson).

Someone on D.U. posted a one word description of Trump: Skeevy. That sums him up.

Back the energy level. People see this. WE'VE WON !

It’s like she’s unleashed a political monster that was just waiting to be released.

It’s all centered on one small word with gigantic impacts…HOPE.

We got it back! And it’s very infectious.

8. There are a lot of disaffected voters

Ones who don't follow the issues closely, but know they don't like Trump and they thought Biden was too old. There are millions of them and they were going to sit it out, vote 3rd party, or just vote for a change (Trump). The, "just give me another choice" crowd so to speak. Well, you have that now, Kamala is another chice, age isn't a factor. She was a big part of Biden's successes, but also can distance herself from some of his challenges.

The simple facts about the country’s racism and misogyny made me feel she wouldn’t have a chance. But then I remembered that we elected President Obama by 10 and 5 million votes over his challengers in ‘08 and ‘12, and that we cast 3 million more votes for Hillary Clinton than he got. And I began to feel better.

But the kicker was the overwhelming support in just the first few days as well as the stupid, lame, nonsensical attacks that show the other side was woefully unprepared for Vice President Kamala Harris to become the presumptive nominee..

This old white guy will be voting for Kamala!

10. I Haven't Felt This Excited

Since 2008. Seriously. I've been here since Bush the Younger. My first Presidential vote was for Gerry Ferraro and What's-His-Name. I haven't seen this level of excitement for a candidate since Obama first ran.

Yes, and isn't it interesting how contagious this high energy, this electric energy actually is? Because I meditate and I can feel a change in people.

And Vance. Like the MN guy says, he's just weird. Like in a creepy way.

We need EVERY vote we can get across all generations.

Don't count us Boomers out.

A lot of these fights are very familiar. We may be old but this isn't our first rodeo. And . . .

We. Won't. Go. Back.
