...he's not a 100% trumper.

He's had an entertainment business relationship with Trump over the 'Apprentice' years, and he backed off of withering criticism of Trump's presidency when he got elected to some faint praise for pardoning a couple of rappers.

Rap icon Snoop Dogg has long been an outspoken critic of former President Donald Trump. In the 2017 music video for the song "Lavender" (Nightfall Remix)," the rapper turned heads when he had an actor dress up as a Trump-lookalike clown dubbed "Ronald Klump," who is later assassinated (by Snoop as himself) in the video. The actor dressed as Klump even holds a "Clown House" press conference for which a news channel's TV crawl read, "Ronald Klump wants to deport all doggs."

Snoop Dogg told Billboard in a 2017 interview that he felt the controversial video was justified. The "Gin and Juice" hitmaker said, "The whole world is clownin' around," going on to offer a list of said "clownish" actions: "The [illegal immigration] ban that this motherf**ker tried to put up... people being in jail for weed for 20, 30 years and motherf**kers that's not black on the streets making money off of it." Snoop Dogg professed in June 2020 while on Real 93.3's Big Boy's Neighborhood that he will vote for the first time in his life in hopes of getting Trump out of office, saying "This year I think I'm going to get out and vote because I can't stand to see this punk in office one more year."

Snoop Dogg had some unexpected words of appreciation for former President Donald Trump when the latter granted clemency to Michael Harris, co-founder of Death Row Records, the label with which the rapper made many of his famous albums. According to the BBC, Harris had been serving 32 years for attempted murder and cocaine trafficking. According to The Daily Beast, Snoop Dogg had been working to convince Trump to pardon Harris along with activists like Alice Johnson – the woman who had been relieved of her life sentence for a first-time non-violent drug offense by Trump.

Snoop Dogg received the good news on Jan. 17, 2021, according to the New York Post, on a Zoom call with Johnson and others. Johnson informed Snoop on the call, "I just got a call from the White House and Harry-O is getting clemency. He's coming home, brother!" The rapper replied, "God is good!" The rapper also went on to compliment Trump directly, "They did some great work while they was in there and they did some great work on their way out. Let them know that I love what they did."

While on a Zoom call with reform advocates Alice Johnson and Weldon Angelos, Snoop Dogg was vocal about his appreciation regarding the Trump administration granting clemency to Michael "Harry O" Harris. Snoop Dogg called the early release the "work of God" as he expressed his gratitude. "It is amazing what the work of God can actually bring to life to make people understand that there is a God," he said, according to the New York Post.

...you posted his faint praise for Trump after the pardons he asked for. I'mean, he never took a word back, so good luck with all of that. I guess Trump might go there, but none of the past stuff I posted, and it's really aggressively anti-Trump, has been apologized for or refuted by Snoop.

Really strains credulity to insist he now supports him because he gave props in return for the pardons. Over the top, but still not an endorsement. More like kissing up after getting what he asked for.

Maybe you'd like to erase the past very vocal and virulent opposition and paste an endorsement on Snoop (I'm sure Trump would) but he hasn't made any choice in this election.

That's why you haven't posted anything that says different.

Snoop Dogg Now Says This Is Why He Has ‘Nothing But Love and Respect’ For Donald Trump
The Doggfather's change of heart appears tied to the twice-impeached former president's pardoning of a Death Row Records co-founder.

After bonding on The Apprentice back in 2007, Snoop Dogg and former one-term president Donald Trump have had an up-and-down relationship ever since. The nadir of their unlikely friendship came during the twice-impeached Trump’s term in the White House, during which Snoop released the Trump-bashing single “M.A.C.A. (Make America Crip Again).”

The 2017 song featured the lines, “The president says he wants to make America great again. F–k that s–t, we going to make America Crip again… don’t you look strange having all that power but you won’t make change.”

“M.A.C.A.” was released seven months after Snoop parodied Trump in the video for “Lavender (Nightfall Remix),” which featured a clown version of the former reality star named Ronald Klump. The satire of current events had Clown-in-Chief Klump holding a press conference to announce the deportation of all dogs. In a Billboard interview at the time, Snoop ticked off a long list of problems he had with the real estate mogul who is currently making a third bid for the presidency. “The [Muslim] ban that this motherf–er tried to put up; him winning the presidency; police being able to kill motherf–kers… and get away with it (and) people being in jail for weed for 20, 30 years,” Snoop said at the time of Trump’s divisive actions and statements.

After telling Big Boy’s Neighborhood in June 2020 that he planned to vote for the first time because he could not stomach “one more year” of Trump’s chaotic rule, the rapper was more circumspect about where his ballot might go in what is expected to be another showdown between Trump and Biden. “I may have to,” Snoop said about whether he feels pressure to declare for a presidential candidate. “Because there are mixed views on that, so I want to see what the people say.”

..so, this private citizen who came out strong against Trump in 2020 for his FIRST ever vote in a presidential election says he's not sure about whether to come out and endorse this time around.

If you had the presidential endorsement from him, you'd post it. Right?

At any rate, he hasn't weighd in on Kamala Harris.

Neither have a wide host of Democratic musicians, actorws, and entertainers.

Snoop never endorsed Trump for president, and hasn't made a choice public in this one.

I do get why republicans want this to be true, though. Snowball's chance in hell, imo.

...but the public praise appears to have come as a result of a nail-biter effort to secure the pardon of a rapper Snoop has signed early on.

Trump had gotten wind of the earlier vids and stuff where Snoop had really taken it to Trump, and he was really balking at doing Dogg the favor he'd asked of him.

And, he was about to leave office.

...let's review:

RS:

In the final three days of his presidency, Donald Trump had something weighing heavily on his mind, causing him to reverse decisions rapidly as he swore angrily in the White House.

The source of the then-outgoing president’s anger had nothing to do with his failed attempts to subvert the 2020 election results, or the incoming president, Joe Biden. It was about Snoop Dogg, the man this magazine once dubbed “America’s Most Lovable Pimp.”

While the famous rapper and actor recently made headlines discussing his “love and respect” for the ex-president, he bitterly feuded with Trump early on in his presidency, before his feelings softened. In late 2020 and early 2021, Snoop Dogg secretly worked to influence the White House on executive clemency for federal prisoners — including for the rapper’s close friend and Death Row Records figure, Michael “Harry-O” Harris.

Snoop Dogg’s old words had inflamed Trump all over again by the early evening of Jan. 18, 2021, the same day that Trump taped a farewell address to the country. At the time, just weeks after the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, the federal government was preparing for a heavily militarized transfer of power from Trump to Biden. And yet, the rapper’s insults still managed to loom large in the Oval Office.

“Well, fuck him,” Trump moaned about Snoop Dogg in the closing days of his term, according to a former administration official and another person who heard him say it.

With just hours left before Biden’s inauguration, Trump’s renewed fury at the rapper set off a frenzied effort both in and outside of the White House to convince Trump that Snoop Dogg wasn’t, in fact, mad at him anymore. The effort lasted almost literally until the final minute of the presidency. Failure to move Trump would have cost the freedom of one of the co-founders of the legendary hip-hop record label Death Row Records, who at the time had been behind bars for three decades.

..It doesn't ring true to me.

Faint praise after getting the pardons he asked for looks more the case, especially after NOT supporting Trump against Biden in the first run, and zero endorsement statements in this election.

And Kamala running? You'd have to be smoking some good shit to conjur that up.
