Thanks to whoever put together the page by page index to the awful Project 2025. I use it

to refer doubters and skeptics to the draconian, fascist and oligarchic wish list that we need to tie to Trump and the Republicans whenever and wherever we can.

Example of how to use it: the current situation with recalled deli meats because of listeria. Trump's Project 2025 would curtail and cut back food safety and inspection so we'd see more illness and deaths from contaminated food. Don't believe me? Read pages 363 thru 417 of this odious and malicious blueprint for a Trumpian America. Then vote Blue all the way thru to prevent it from happening to you. Another example: we had severe storms last night where I live. With Trump's Project 2025 plan to eliminate or privatize the weather service, those alerts would disappear or you'd have to pay for them, if you could afford them. Don't believe me? Read page ..... etc, etc.

I wanted to buy a copy of Project 2025 to double-check the accuracy of the index graphic, but according to the web site it's sold out. That's good because I didn't really want to give any money to the Heritage Foundation and its ilk; it's also bad because ... well, it's sold out. I did find an online searchable version of Project 2025 but I'm not going to link to it here. My original purpose was to verify the source. I read Project 2025 so you don't have to! [martyrdom emoji] So here's that graphic. I hope you can make good use of it.

But then, I was a researcher.

It would be wonderful and useful if some patient person could put together a "Leftist's Index To Project 2025". In searchable text.

But I'm betting other oiligarchs would like to get their hands on a branch of the military. Wanna bet that they would still get taxpayers to pay for it, and that it would cost more than before they took it over.

BTW, if you happen to have highlighted your PDF version of the Project 2025 Mandate for Leadership, for these kinds of plans, I'd sure like to get a copy. I'm planning to start a group to educate and organize around stopping Project 2025 in my purple county in Texas.

And being able to give the skeptics a pdf already highlighted would make it easier for them to find other things I didn't think to mention.

I've started highlighting a copy but it's a big task and slow going.

Maybe the page numbers match up to the actual hardcover book?

If I remember correctly, CNN (I know, not trustworthy) did a fact check and stated that Harris's claim that Project 2025 mentions cutting Social Security is false. I can't link to it at the moment, but I read that within the last few days.

I haven't tried to verify any of the other information yet.

When I have time, I'm going to read through the 922 pages of Project 2025 myself. I think I'll mainly scan through it but still look over every word of it. I'll probably take notes, also.

page count differs. PDF assigns a page number to the table of contents, the foreword, to blank pages that in traditional publishing do not get a page number, so the "Jump to page nnn" function doesn't work as expected. I'm reviewing the entire graphic reference/pagination and may either redo the graphic myself or pull it entirely if it's wildly inaccurate.

The importance of providing accurate information about Project 2025 can't be overstated. Otherwise, Republicans can deflect and make Democrats look like we're just making things up to scare people.

Another thing I wonder is if the Heritage Foundation might be continually making edits to the published version of Project 2025 on their website. I don't have any reason to suspect this, but I wonder about it just the same.

But I am going to start reading the Project 2025 document on the Heritage Foundation's website. I've already read small parts of it before, but now I'm going to start putting in the time to really go over it from start to finish.

I have reading thru the document is there are rarely any flat-out statements of intent such as "We're going to eliminate Social Security!" Things like that are couched (...dare I use that word these days??) in 17 or 18 pages of dry prose that beats the general topic to an opaque foam, but the boiled down meaning is "we're going to eliminate Social Security." I admire people more bureaucratically sophisticated than I, who can parse that stuff and draw the appropriate conclusion. I'm thinking particularly of Robert Reich. He's got a real knack for boiling it down to the essential take and deducing what the consequences would be.

Project 2025 is such an insidious, clear and present danger to the country. We need to hang it around every Republican neck. I may be on a fool's errand (and it wouldn't be the first time) but I'll give it my best effort for everyone else who doesn't want to see American democracy die on our watch.

I think that's intentional so that their intended audience will be able to glean what they're actually saying while Heritage retains plausible deniability from critics.

Harris was right about Project 2025's intention to cut Social Security even though it doesn't come out and state that. That's why CNN's 'fact check' was disingenuous.
