Doug Emhoff's Ex-Wife Shreds GOP For Attacks on Kamala For Not Having Children

Kerstin Emhoff, ex-wife of Kamala Harris' husband Doug Emhoff, torched Republicans for "baseless attacks" on Harris for not having children in a statement released this week. Harris is stepmother to Doug and Kerstin's two children, Cole and Ella.

The three maintain a positive co-parenting relationship. Harris revealed during the 2020 race that Cole and Ella gave her the affectionate nickname "Momala."

"These are baseless attacks. For over 10 years, since Cole and Ella were teenagers, Kamala has been a co-parent with Doug and I," Kerstin Emhoff said in a statement to CNN. "She is loving, nurturing, fiercely protective, and always present. I love our blended family and am grateful to have her in it."

"The thing about blended families, if everyone approaches it in the way that there’s plenty of love to share, then it works," Harris said in 2020 in an interview with CNN.
