They are hot from the propellent gasses and friction going through the barrel.

At the muzzle a rifle bullet is between 200 and 400 degrees. I read someone calculated the bullet would have been in contact for .4 milliseconds, not long enough to transfer a significant amount of heat

I have heard if it hit his ear at all it would have ripped it off and more.

And how much energy transfers.

At 150 yards the bullet has 750-1000 ft lbs of energy. A solid head hit will be a messy fatal wound as the majority of the energy is transferred to the head.

A shallow graze on soft flexible tissue will not transfer much at all, so will produce a minor, even insignificant, wound

Even a piercing wound to the ear would not rip it off. The tissue is too thin and flexible for the required force to be transferred.

I was suspicious when he was released right away and then when Eric said he didn't need stitches. I think there is a reason we have not seen the hospital report.

His claim that a bullet made a hole in his ear is looking like another Trump con.
