Luckily Kozar made his call for help when a lot of people were up and aware.
I was the shift supervisor at the desk once, sitting by the phone with constant calls from distraught people after a horrifying event at work.
It's stressful; you're always second - guessing yourself , especially if you took charge and sent everyone home; calling others to tell them not to come in, and having to deal with preparing the next shift and dealing with management.

You did well, he's in an ambulance and hopefully someone from the VA nearby can get to him from the hospital.

I’m in Pennsylvania but I’m on and off DU all day long, as are many of us. Kozar, stay online with all of us and let us support you virtually if we cannot physically be there to give comfort.

Well, now that we know the address, let's send a flood of cards and letters down to Chiefland. Forums are great, but it's comforting to have a box of cards and letters that you can read whenever you need to know that other people care.

I don't know enough about him personally to be able to direct their outreach to him properly. There are VA programs that could help, especially if he had legal guardianship of Lil bit.

Might not be easy in the hospital, but get some rest!

The won't let you starve, I'm sure. ( Smiling at you) get some rest and let them help. Tease the nurses and smile when you can. Usually they dote on older men. Be well.
