I would be very surprised if Trump dumps Vance.

1. It's a sign of weakness. Trump would rather go down with the ship than admit he made a mistake (just look at his handling of COVID).

2. I think it would piss off some conservative voters - maybe even enough to keep them home in November. Vance is weird. He's an extremist and that's exactly why he appeals to the Charlie Kirk wing of the Republican Party.

3. It would probably create even more needless drama than we're seeing already. The optics would not look good. And there's just no way Vance can step aside without it looking like Trump panicked. The damage would be significant. Just look at the whole Eagleton affair for McGovern.

4. Thiel won't allow it. And neither will Putin.

For November? I could absolutely see him blaming Vance for the pending loss. Self Esteem Jul 26 #2

Also, #4.
Putie loves JD bc JD hates funding Ukraine's security.

Anything can happen (as we've all witnessed in the past week), but I think tsf will keep his Reek around (Reek being the hilarious and apt name that John Fuglesang gave JD is a post this week).

Trump has turned on so many other people he hired. The MAGA people don't care. Whatever Trump is saying today is what they believe.

I suspect Trump wanted to dump Pence frequently but knew the logistics did not favor him.

They are flsiling now, and with our convention coming up all kumbaya like, they might have to do something drastic.

The propal movement may not even be very energetic.

He can be impulsive when he's highly frustrated. He doesn't think things through and doesn't listen to advice.

He just wants the problem to go away.
