i think kamala is giving us a "the emperor has no clothes" moment

we've been screaming that donnie is a fascist and extreme and a dictator wannabe and so on for ages, but it never really gets through, because the media has had their defenses up.

biden and many others have been great at getting the message out, but the media has established defenses and narratives that let them ignore the truth. if biden said anything they'd just talk about his age. if any democrat in congress said anything they'd just say they're being partisan or anyway just turn to a republican and say and how do you respond to that? as if donnie trying to establish a dictatorship is just another ho-hum issue.

but between the shakeup of the democratic ticket and kamala's fresh face and happy disposition, she offers a chance to see our current reality through fresh eyes, unfiltered by an established media narrative that obscures or twists what's actually going on.

SHE IS US, she is ordinary people perhaps taking a fresh look at the race or a first look at the presidential campaign.

for people waking up to donnie 2.0 -- the unapologetic fascist in the making, the bitter, hateful, revenge-seeking, dementia patient, the guy who is no longer trying to hide his dictatorial ambitions -- kamala offers a fresh take on donnie.

not a rerun of 8 years of criticism that the media can easily dismiss as the usual partisan mudslinging.

if kamala says vance is weird and creepy, ordinary people try that thought on for size and go, hey, yeah, he is weird and creepy!

the media can't normalize the nazi crap in the face of kamala taking a fresh look at these nut jobs and saying what everyone has known but either couldn't say or couldn't get people to hear.

just like the child who finally says, "the emperor has no clothes". finally, a fresh voice says what everyone knew but couldn't say or hear.

kamala is that fresh voice.

it's time for everyone to finally listen to what we all know is the truth.

donnie is an authoritarian who will end democracy if given the chance.

oh, and he's weird and creepy, too.

Yes, I know...it's emperor... That's how he's treated.. This is a great post..agree whole heartedly!! She IS a fresh voice!! She's speaking with enthusiasm and confidence that is new to this political environment. I'm fine with Joe's voice...I love people his age..their knowledge. I would sit for hours to listen to him one on one speak. But this is a different moment in time. There aren't enough people listening to him...Kamala is bringing the spunk we need!! She's awesome!! She's really blossomed in the past years. I am listening and most of the people I know are also. Donnie is a menace to all we hold dear.

She glows with kindness and good humor. I need that after years of worrying about what that stupid evil clown will do next. The Biden years have been so much better, but still that monster has been sucking up so much attention in his desperate attempt to avoid jail by pardoning himself. Oh, and he wants to be a dictator. And he wants to take away more and more of our rights.

We need her. And he needs to be in a maximum security prison.

This is a wonderful essay, by the way. Great insight and great writing. Thank you, unblock.

Every next batch of emails reviewed was ooohh, more emails! Will they find a smoking gun? Will the next reveal result in criminal charges? That will end her career!

Yeah, right. Apparently criminal convictions are a big yawning nothing. The media covered the trial, sure, but gave him free airtime to constantly insist it's all rigged and biased and political and gosh it doesn't move the polls so whatever.

But with Hillary, the last minute reveal of duplicate non evidence of a non crime was the last straw, can't have that in a presidential candidate.

And the media remains shamelessly oblivious to the absurdly blatant bias.
