(2,649 posts)Its a repeat of what hes done before. In a way I like he wants to push his agenda. Just wish he would come out and say he wants assurances that they will work for Medicare for all etc.. And talks are in progress. I know he probably has already hit VP Harris up on some of the things he wants.
As to the Obamas Id think it would swamp out others announcements. If they would have announced right off the bat everyone would have been talking about that. Getting the excitement increasing over the week.
I think there are calculations of timing in all of these moves.

(18,002 posts)Endorse VP Harris, or have Trump. Doesnt seem all that complicated.

(37,447 posts)Sanders isn't a Democrat. You being very new, you may not have known that.

(14,046 posts)A roll out over days looks better. Get a few "Big" endorsements each day, keeps it in the news and drowns out the little petty republican nonsense newsgrabs

(11,584 posts)I wanna see a meme of him in his coat and gloves sitting beside a Harris sign. It should be captioned "Medicare and Harris for all!"

(96,043 posts)And as a political goal, appealing with success to white working class people certainly is something which ought to be pursued. However, on the record, it does seem that appeals to racism and misogyny rouse greater support among white working class people than the appeals to their economic interests Sanders favors.

(27,383 posts)Why post this?
I was really enjoying the unity until I saw this crap.
I guess I need to leran to just ignore it.
But if people put as much work into getting Kamala Harris elected, as they do nursing and justifying old grudges, we might acatually win and change the world.
Color me naive ?

(379 posts)If people are having a difference in opinion on another thread, why highlight or make another post to continue it?
Im seeing your OP in a different light now. It really does give a whole new spin on your original statement in the OP
Be a shame if something were to happen to all that nice unity ya got goin there, ya know ?
Maybe it wasnt your intent. In light of what you are highlighting, another DU OP, I would suggest deleting this one.

(90,030 posts)Obama wasn't going to the media but when asked about her refusing to show support.
It's clear Sanders has issues when it comes to women. We saw this with Hillary.
The best is just not to give him much attention. It would be better if he avoids the media also.

(26,868 posts)Perhaps one shouldn't believe everything one reads or hears, particularly unsubstantiated rumors.
Regardless, one day doesn't make an iota of difference. The time to worry about whether or not someone endorses her would be after she's the official nominee. Even then, endorsements are mostly irrelevant, with a few notable exceptions. Clyburn's endorsement of Biden in 2020 being one of them.

(7,564 posts)I wasn't aware he hadn't publicly endorsed yet, until you mentioned it here.
I would suggest the reasons are likely to do with wanting for a bug rally event Or it could be other reasons to do with Obama's preferred timing.
I'm not in the least worried about it in the slightest. Nor should anyone else be.

(33,208 posts)As for the Obamas, Barack has always been a little conservative and as he has said before, he doesn't want his thumb on the scale.
Let's stay positive - the Minnesota poll already made my day! (and it's early) We have a lot to be thankful now - we are in this race & we are going to win!!
