(23,829 posts)we had around 146 elected Rs who refused to certify the votes hoping to throw it to the House to
make that decision, I'm guessing that number is larger today because TSF will ruin everybody who
doesn't fall in line and worship him like a king.

They resent democracy - which they view as a thinly-veiled "globalist-Marxist, n***er-loving (and anti-white) ruse."
This viewpoint is especially rabid and prevalent now - but it was always there among southern right-wingers, lurking.

It reared up during George Wallace's era, but was tamped down. TSF just cracked open the hatred box far enough to set them free to spew their crap.

(23,829 posts)Our messages of saving Democracy might be falling on deaf ears. They don't want to hear that and
it turns them off from voting with us.
Do we need to tweak our message to "saving our way of life" or "saving our Constitution" maybe
"saving the Oval Office from a orange King" ?

(23,440 posts)My apologies if my comment came off otherwise.
Some of the smartest liberals and moderates I've ever met, were southerners. Stuart Stevens reminds me of them a lot.
These are people who have seen - and lived with - the authoritarian threat, up-close and personal. They know what the neo-confederates and assorted right-wingers are capable of.

Meanwhile, the man doesn't realize that as an useful idiot, he won't be necessary to the powers-that-be once he is no longer "useful" to them. He needs to stay away from windows and stairs.

(12,779 posts)In the same speech, he makes it clear he is Not a Christian.
As if it's a selling point. "See, I'm so fair, I want Christians to vote for me even though I'm Not a Christian." Is he an atheist?
So do you think the anti Christ would be a Christian? Is Satan a Christian? I mean they would believe in Christ soooo.
Or is Trump an atheist? Just doesn't believe in any gods? He does want to rule like a god. Maybe he thinks he is God.

Though, using the word "you" implies separation, as contrasted with "us" or "we", a common gaffe.
Important to clarify, as your statement would be powerful if verified.
And it's typical if him to contradict himself, even deliberately, to take both sides of an issue, or to say he was just joking, when caught in a lie or found quoting from his beloved führer.

(12,779 posts)It's out there in most clips of him saying Christians won't have to vote anymore. It's everywhere on YouTube news clips.
Go to ABC7 Los Angeles with Mark Brown. He has an easily identifiable clip.
It's not hard to find. And several small online Christian groups were commenting on that he said he was Not Christian before they even noticed that he said you won't ever have to vote again.
Farmer-Rick
(12,779 posts)Look at the video. He may not have meant it because he does have dementia but he clearly says it and gestures to emphasize it. I think his dementia let the truth out. He's losing g track of his lies.
I'm going to believe what I see and hear with my own senses. Not what corporate media and CBS is trying to con people with.
He holds his right hand to his chest, near his heart? purposely indicating himself. Then he shakes his head "no" when he says "Not". It's so very obvious.
He says, "I'm Not Christian."
The best video on it is ABC7 Los Angeles with Mark Brown. I tried to post the link but it's not working for me.

(12,779 posts)Folks are trying to minimize it. Corporate media didn't even mention it. I saw it mentioned on a couple of small Christian sites before I saw he told folks they wouldn't have to vote. Some Christians did notice it.
It's just so weird to watch corporate media cover up for him.
Why doesn't someone ask him about saying he's not a Christian? It would be an easy thing to clear up. But no one wants to bring it up.

(5,545 posts)Authoritarians are rigid in their conformity to their own social norms. They absolutely do not consider themselves weird. And, as someone with Asperger's, let me assure you that authoritarians are considered far more normal by the 2/3'rds of the population who are not authoritarian that many people with Asperger's are. As long as the authoritarians refrain from "saying the quiet part out loud" they generally fit right in in society. They frequently move right up the ladder into high corporate, military, and government positions, whereas people who genuinely come across as "weird" struggle to maintain employment.
