.. I suppose I had some sort notion that conditions of a debate on FOX could be negotiated that included fact checking, time limits, less insane moderators, etc.

Regardless of how well Harris does or how poorly Trump does, Trump and Maga will use the debate for publicity for Trump. We should all know by now that Trump will lie, and Maga will lie about Harris.

Even if she bests him in the debate, Trump will say something(s) outrageous that will be reported nonstop for days. Any thing Harris says will not be reported and will soon be forgotten by the news.

There is no benefit for Harris if she debates Trump.

he just scoffed and made some comment about how Fox was infotainment , not a legitimate news outlet.

Kamala should do something like that. Just totally dismiss them as not playing in the right league.

a debate. Trump is behind. Who cares. Harris doesn't need the debate. She is in first place. Now if Trump would agree to a debate on a serious network like ABC then fine. Great. Do it.

If he picks Fox moderators (which must be from their dayside “news” anchors and not their prime time entertainment anchors), he gets no studio audience.
If he picks a live audience, then Harris gets to pick network/moderators.
