GOP white males assume all power belongs to them.

That would definitely improve the percentage as many would win especially in blue and purple states.

They are currently under severe attack.

A bunch of rich white men are just narcissistic and think they are superior and think deserve to have power over others , especially republicans have that entitled mentality and if someone challenges them they get reactionary or act like victims.

So it is hard to share it.

White males are only 30% of the population but hold 72% of elected offices.

Why is this? What does the data tell us? Let's just look at the gender variable.

1. It cannot be that males are better educated than women.

-Women are now graduating from college in greater numbers than men.
-There are five million more women than men who have college degrees in the US.
-Women are earning more PhDs than males.

2. It cannot be that women lack experience.

-College educated women now outnumber males in the US workforce.

3. It cannot be that men are seen as more decent or moral than females.

-93% of all prison inmates are males.
-Almost all rapists and murderers are male.

So we have to wonder why males are seen as the best candidates most of the time.

I grew up in the 60s to 70s. Every face I saw, someone in an important position, was a white male for a goodly part of those decades.

1. They were.

2. They did lack experience in many areas.

3. Women would be hysterical in a crises, they can't lead.

Those were different times. Women didn't get the vote at all until a century ago, after black men. Women were restricted from many colleges and universities. They were restricted from many careers. They were basically the property of their father, and then their husband. For a long time women couldn't own property, or travel on their own.

It's easy today, when progress has been made, to forget that these were long, hard battles that sometimes took lives before changes came. Like slavery, women's rights were not easy wins. We're still in the fight for acceptance. It didn't end, it's morphed, in some ways we've gone backwards (Roe, for one).

I was a Mrs Clinton voter until President Obama was the nominee. To this day I have a hard time thinking of a more qualified candidate than she was. US Senator, Secretary of State, Attorney, First Lady with 8 years in the Whitehouse. Easily transitioned to President Obama who was not nearly as qualified in my opinion but had the qualifications necessary.

Whites make up 75 percent of the population. That is white hispanic, not white non Hispanic. If you want to wil elections, you have to target the largest population and get the most votes you can out of it. That does not mean pander to it but meet them where they are. There are plenty of democratic leaning white males. Instead of poking them in the eye, let’s try to expand the base.

There is going to be a big power shift and they are running scared.

Non-hispanic white males will be the minority in the House of Representatives by 2040, just 16 years from now. (The Senate may take a bit longer, but not by much.)

White males will lose power whether they like it or not.

He's promised the white Christian minority eternal dominance. We must defeat him now, this election, or we may never have another chance. They like to spout "civil war", but that's what it would take to get this kind of fascist monster out of our government.

It will be an eternal fight, probably. Never rest, never assume people who think like that are gone. They should never have gotten this far, but people ignored their working from dog catcher and up. See how that worked? We took our eye off the ball. Who cares about the local school board? Who cares about the city council, the country commission? Those people can't do much.

The thing is, those people got experience. They collected backers. And then they were in the state houses and senates, the governorships, the courts and then into the Federal congress, and eventually into the White House.

This must be stopped. Never again someone like Trump, even the sneaky ones, like Reagan. And we can't assume Democrats are safe, because we've seen turncoats, those who aren't what they seem. We even have a name for them: DINO, Democrat in name only. That's not a cute meme, it should serve as another warning.

Eternal vigilance, eternal war for democracy. It's been said, democracy is the worse form of government, except for all the others. We have our choice, let's fight for it.

And Black and Latino men are too. But yeah, let's play identity politics cause that worked so well in 2016.

But they will be losing power due to the demographics and there is nothing they can do about it.

White males can join the GOP all they want.
It will not change the reality heading their way in the next two decades.

… people are voting for them. It’s not a conspiracy. Where compelling women and minorities run for office, they are doing pretty well. It’s somewhat difficult to unseat a decent incumbent so the process takes a while. We are waiting for people to retire or die. It gets better every election cycle.

There is a ton of research on this. If people in a society see women as a group as “less than” men, it’s going to be harder for equally qualified (or better) female candidates to win. H. Clinton was just one of many examples of this. And we have evidence of many factors that have led people in the US to continue to hold biases, many of which are unconscious.

There is also evidence that women candidates in general have more difficulty than do men in raising campaign money.

That is what has the GOP scared.

and there are just as many and probably more white women and they tend to vote for white men. Although there is workto do like winning this election, but no those numbers wouldn't be unusual in many countries unless we are going to pretend white men have no mothers.

In 2010 the US white population was 71%.
2020 about 60%.

2060 is projected US white population at 45%.

This is why the GOP is hysterical and forcing white women to give birth.
Ending abortion and birth control.

and I doubt it's dropped by 11% in 3 or 4 years. Even if those projections hold at 45% by 2060 that will likely still be the largest plurality and by 2060 there is a good chance many of us won't still be alive anyway and very few people currently in Government will still be around by then.

Trends and population projections are not based on whether you or I will be alive next year.

Science is about making specific and general predictions for the good of those who come after us.

It is not always about us and our personal interests.

The data is showing a profound change in American culture and politics.
It is not about us.

Scenic predictions 36 years away are not reliable. There are too many unknown and unforeseen circumstances that can and will happen.

All Democrats in Congress who happen to be white males should refuse to run for office in 2026, stating that our outdated system of American Apartheid MUST come to an end!

I realize we can't get the R's to do this, but no matter, the numbers will be there in the end!
