(1,760 posts)You don’t think it is important that an 87 year old women was harassed in her home by a slew law enforcement officials with guns, for helping the elderly to vote? What am I missing here?

(13,884 posts)without a reason... This is a discussion board, so I say it maybe essentially bait.
You appear to of clicked on the video giving more information than the OP. That is why...I don't mind discussing my point.
The video may or may not be something I want to click on or have a trust level....too many bad links out there...

(32,761 posts)If you are on the Suspense list you can vote if you live in the same county.
The majority of people on the suspense list have moved within Texas.
My son is on the Suspense list. He just bought a newly constructed house (in a nice area) and registered over there and for some reason the mail didn't get to him from the elections dept and it "bounced". He can still vote, but he needs to sign a statement of residency when he votes.
The term "Suspense" is confusing. If you moved to another county, then you are not eligible to vote or you are only eligible to vote on a statewide ballot. If you have moved within the same county, then you can vote using the old address after you fill out a "Statement of Residency". Election workers do not verify the new address. After the election, the elections department will sent a new voter certificate to the new address. If the card does not bounce, the voter is removed from Suspense. Your Suspense is also removed when you vote. So, if you vote and remain on Suspense, it's just a quirk., you can just keep voting. If you don't vote and remain on Suspense for four years, then the voter is removed.

(32,761 posts)It's gonna backfire on Paxton, but I don't think he cares. He's just trying to flip HD80 seat via "bad publicity about Democrats".
He may succeed, but legally Paxton has made a total dickass move.
His legal case against anyone he served warrants on is falling apart due to dickass moves by Paxton.
Paxton's real target is a unnamed campaign worker in Frio County.
All these raids are about a connection to an unnamed campaign worker in Dilley. Everyone who was raided is connected to the House District 80 campaign. The candidate for HD 80 herself was also raided. It is doubtful that any of those who were named have done anything illegal. The candidate does not live in Dilley. Lidia Martinez does not live in Dilley. I believe
One campaign worker in Dilley, Texas who apparently engaged in some small-time shady stuff with local mail voting is the target. Locals were complaining, so they enlisted Paxton. The mayor of Dilley was also raided. The case is gonna fall apart because Paxton is a dickass...
The small town of Dilley will get bad publicity out of this like many small towns do. The investigation will eventually focus on Dilley.
Whatever the outcome of that separate investigation, Castellano and the others said they have nothing to do with it. Her concern is the impact the raids will have on the voters she has spent months getting to know and encouraged to go to the polls.
