I decided to make a post about this is something that seems to happen more frequently in Red states. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't Camden, NJ. So, going by the News reporter's pronunciation of the victim's name, I searched for the incident on Google. Low and behold, nothing:
Next, of course I switch over to Duck/Duck/Go and BINGO!!! There it is! Same misspelling and All of the hits are spot on! Accident? I think not. Google is officially shit. Corporate whores. pigs.
Think. Again.

Switched to Duck Duck Go last year, not going back. I need to find a new email since gmail has locked me out of my email for the last couple months. Glad I don't need it that much anymore.

(3,065 posts)Based on city, description of event, close enough spelling. Google didn't want to make this an easy discovery. It's prolly in their AI. I'm sure their HQ isn't far from that nasty F__k P. Thiel. RW ideology has seemed into Silicon Valley. That's my takeaway. Cheers

(46,656 posts)when I searched, Google autocorrected to Jamie which is incorrect. Using the correct spelling yields similar results as Duck Duck Go.

(7,412 posts)The Google Workplace system is really robust and elegant, though it can be complicated to configure and manage. It's tools for education and live collaboration are really good, too. Managing a large deployment of Chromebooks at a school is done through the admin console. It works well with other classroom management systems like GoGuardian and Hapara.
There is definitely evidence that social media platforms will filter and bias content via algorithm and keywords, but search engines are kind of a big net thing. I think suppression of news starts at the source, not necessarily at the aggregator of info.
