VP Harris was greeted on the tarmac by Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro upon her arrival in Pittsburgh.
"Welcome back," Shapiro said to @VP @KamalaHarris
President Biden will join Harris at a campaign event at a local union hall this afternoon. The VP is expected to say that US Steel should remain domestically owned.

(88,782 posts)This morning, the IBEW International President convened a special meeting of the IBEWs international officers, who voted unanimously and enthusiastically to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for President of the United States.
Vice President Harris has been a proven ally of the IBEW. Working by President Bidens side, she cast the deciding vote to save our pensions. Their administration created good union jobs through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the American Rescue Act, the Inflation Reduction Act and the CHIPS and Science Act, said International President Kenneth W. Cooper
IBEW members know Vice President Harris and have engaged with her over the last four years as shes visited our job sites, union halls and training facilities. She has listened to us, and we stand confident that she will continue this administrations extraordinary record on behalf of working people when she is sworn into office next January.
The choice this November will be a stark one for working people, and especially for union members. On one side, we have a proven track record of success and job creation. On the other side is someone who didnt pass anything except a massive tax cut for corporations and the wealthy.
Our members will vote for the IBEW, and that is a vote for Kamala Harris.
We look forward to Vice President Harriss choice of running mate, and to standing side by side with them in the fight for the future of all working families in the United States.
The IBEW thanks President Biden for his extraordinary work on behalf of the 838,000 members and retirees of the IBEW and for his endorsement of Vice President Harris, recognizing her significant contributions and steadfast advocacy for working people nationwide.
When Kamala Harris is elected president this November, the IBEW members will have a staunch ally returning to the White House."

(88,782 posts)...with all the time to join in.
And spending Labor Day with politicians has to be a niche thing.
I do like collecting it all in photo essays, though, so complaining for nothing.
Hilarious to have Labor Day politics blaring in the house all day with all the windows open!

(37,657 posts)My guess... and speaking only for myself... it's that you're so fantastically thorough, that one just feels happy to feel the joyful political 'photo essay' moment, with nothing to add. And why not.
You be you. It's great to witness bigtree do his thing.

(88,782 posts)...there's the clips and such that you see on the news.
Even the live events, but there's so much they leave out that we miss with these events. Especially as they reduce them to fit their politics in the news casts.
The pics and tweets and reports zoom in and puts it all in slow motion for us to experience and feel more. And it's frozen in that shape and form.
I go through hundreds as I pick and choose to post in the most reasonable sequence I can manage, trying to make it as timely as I can.
The only real touch is in the way I search, using the image search initially more than the words. Like they say, the pics are worth a thousand of them.
