Doesn't matter that it's ruining the environment, that it's unregulated, and that most people aren't financially savvy enough to understand how an unpegged, volatile currency works, especially if they don't have a high enough income as cushion and allow them to recover from a sudden loss.

It's hard enough for the average American, even an educated one, to understand cryptocurrency, which opens up the door for all sorts of scams and outright theft by unscrupulous tech or banking weenies.
