NC-GOV: GOP sees worrying signs in North Carolina governor's race

Republicans in North Carolina are facing worrying signs in the governor’s race amid a torrent of negative headlines surrounding their candidate, Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson.

Most polls in recent months have shown Democrat Josh Stein, the state’s attorney general, leading Robinson, an ally of former President Trump who has drawn criticism for his past rhetoric on everything from abortion to the civil rights movement.

Some Republicans fear Robinson’s controversial persona could cost them the governor’s mansion — and the challenge will be even tougher for him as Vice President Harris has seemingly made inroads in the state as well.

“That is the dominant feature of the race,” said Republican strategist Doug Heye, referring to the controversies surrounding past comments Robinson has made.

Psychopath- these people aren’t just radical, they’re seditious and likely insane by definition.

These are the “folks” who can rationalize the existence and facilitation and use of death camps.

Rejected soundly for Shapiro, who’s a normal human being

because he's the loudest Trump supporter in the crowd.

And Trump heard him, liked it and endorsed him.

His race was probably a consideration as well.....Republicans thought that somehow the simple fact that he is black would be enough to fragment the black vote.

Republicans think of race like they do party loyalty.....which is to say they don't understand race on a fundamental level. It's shared culture and identity more than skin tone.

10. There aren't any genes that identify races

Yes there are genes for skin color, but the don't always correlate with observed skin colors. There are genes for eye shapes but they don't always correlate with observed eye shapes. Like eye color and hair texture there are numerous interactions between genes that create what people look like.

"The completion of the Human Genome Project in 2003 confirmed humans are 99.9% identical at the DNA level and there is no genetic basis for race."

That's why most of those ancestry DNA sites use location and genetic commonalities to determine ancestry. They are only as good as their data base. As people send in their DNA, those folks are helping to create a better genetic data base for the corporations.

"As for whether race can be found in our genes, the answer is no. Biological ancestry, however (which is distinct from race), is real. Where our forebears came from can be seen in our DNA (to a certain degree), but ancestry does not map onto race, not even close." https://www.mcgill.ca/oss/article/health-general-science/are-you-there-race-its-me-dna#:~:text=As%20for%20whether%20race%20can,onto%20race%2C%20not%20even%20close.

Race is an unscientific social construct. It was used to provide identification of slaves and marginalize people to allow for economic abuse. Today it is also used to identify groups of people who share social habits and religion.

When your policies positions are just as horrible as your personality you're a Republican. When you espouse policies that are proven failures over and over you're a conservative. Put the two together and you get Republican political candidates and voters. Rancid is a good descriptive term for them.

Robinson in the past has said terrible things about Jews, LGBTQ, Affordable Care Act, etc.

There are some stories that NC GOP fearful that this could cost Trump the state of NC.

When their candidate stands in front of a church congregation, with the church elders on one side and the choir on the other, and says, "some folks need killing", it might have an adverse affect on his electability.
Now, they say he was quoted out of context, that he was talking about Nazi's and the Japanese in WWII.

https://abc11.com/post/mark-robins-says-folks-need-killing-comment-made/15063031/

But, we know that was just a way to sanitize and justify his call to kill the enemies of the people...whoever they are. I suspect they're the people the Republicans want us to fear and hate, like immigrants and left wing liberal Democrats.
He didn't say who they were, but the implications are pretty clear he was referring to political and cultural enemies.
Not exactly a viewpoint held by the majority of North Carolina voters.

To the NC GOP there is no problem nominating a complete nutjob.

They see negative headlines as the reason to withdraw their Republican money and support.

It’s a little fucking late you GOP nutjobs. You own him as a candidate.

It costs money to raise a family. Are you ready for the expenses?

And if it is a medical issue. Do you want to risk the life of your wife? Or if it is for the fetus do you want it to endure medical disabilities?

and the electorate doesn’t give a shit that he or she are a BatShitCrazedLoon - yet a Democratic candidate in any state has to be damn near perfect for our voters.

Double standard America needs a reboot IMO.
