FL Senate: Rick Scott 46%, Debbie Mucarsel-Powell 45%

Poll: Rick Scott and Debbie Mucarsel-Powell in heated race to win Florida Senate seat.

WASHINGTON - Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., and former Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, D-Fla., are in a contentious neck to neck battle to win Florida’s Senate seat in November, according to a new poll released Friday.

The Hill/Emerson College poll, conducted between Sept. 3 and Sept. 5, found that 46% of likely Florida voters choose Scott while 45% choose Mucarsel-Powell. Nine percent said they were undecided.

Is he actually capable of this?
Yes!
Have you ever seen Rick Scott and Skeletor in the same room together?
No!
Therefore I would contend that Rick Scott actually IS Skeletor!

Below are actual quotes of SKELETOR. I report. You decide.

“I could write a book about what you don’t know!”
“This is becoming a wonderful day for evil!”
“This planet, these people – They are nothing to me – the universe is power, pure, unstoppable power – and I am that force, I am that power!”
“I am not nice, I am not kind, and I am not wonderful!”
“Kneel before your master…for you are no longer my equal, I am more than man, more than life! I am a god!”
“I am completely and utterly evil. I live to be bad! I care for no one and no one cares for me.”

...she can win this race. The only thing she lacks is money. I wish I could help more, but my limited resources are going to her and Colin Allred. Both of them are competing hard in expensive markets against two of the least popular Senators in Congress in states where women are going to make the GOP pay for what they're doing to them. If you can give them any amount of money, do it.

ETA: And Scott, the Senator from FL wants to cut Medicare and Social Security. That's either way too smug, or a political death wish. Either way, he can be beat. Don't let the presidential polls convince you FL is a lost cause for other offices.

Their percentage in the sample was right in line with their percentage of overall registered voters.

Sample: 53.6% women

Registered Voters: 53.4% women

... "To put them in perspective, I think of being on an airplane. The flight attendant comes down the aisle with her food cart and, eventually, parks it beside my seat. “Can I interest you in the chicken?” she asks. “Or would you prefer the platter of shit with bits of broken glass in it?” The undecided voter asks, "How is the chicken cooked?"

The malignant spawn of an unholy union between Lurch and Uncle Fester is the richest member of the Senate. He is also one of, if not the worst, member of the Senate. He is a disease whose only cure is expulsion from the Senate, if not from the Human Race.

I have only undying contempt for anyone that supports that putrid bag of rat excrement. And that support says nothing good about their judgement or their character. I mean, he's a Senator from Heaven's Waiting Room, and he has stated that, if given the chance, he will take away their fucking Social Security! They're either blithering idiots, just as evil as he is, or, most likely, both.

21.3% of Florida are over age 65, 78.7% are under.
https://www.prb.org/resources/which-us-states-are-the-oldest/

Leave out the juvenile demographic, you get 57.13% of voting Floridians under 65.
https://www.neilsberg.com/insights/florida-population-by-age/

Scott's got bad guy history and Mucarsel-Powell presents a clean break. If The Villages are nuts for Harris, add university towns, the Gen Z vote, and pro-choice Republican women hiding out as registered Independents, she's got a real shot.

It sounds like we need to really support Debbie, Bob Casey, Jon Tester, Sherrod Brown and Colin Allred to save the Senate.

As I posted in another thread, the Emerson polls for Texas and Florida oversampled women by 9 points. Hopefully resources won’t be wasted going to these states based on these polls alone.

29. And how did they model the electorate? And adjust their data for it?
Fri Sep 6, 2024, 11:37 PM

When you say they "oversampled" women by 9 points that implies you know how they modeled the electorate & then deliberately didn’t follow their own model.
Any argument about "oversampling" needs to be supported by 1) detailed info on how the pollster modeled the electorate, 2) data supporting exactly why that electorate model is accurate (or not) to a high degree of certainty, & 3) how they statistically reconciled the respondent rate with their electorate model.

I'm not being negative here, I genuinely want to know how they modeled the electorate, including all the details "why," & I genuinely want to see evidence that, once they developed an electorate model that they had a high degree of confidence in, they deliberately disregarded it & made a grade school level mistake like including an oversampling of one particular group without statistically adjusting for it in their model. That's one of the most basic mistakes anyone can make, high school kids would fail a statistics test if they did that, but you're saying this pollster did that?

I'm all ears...

A majority of those 19% “undecided independents” just don’t want to admit they’re gonna vote republican. Crist was within single digits of DeSantis in some 2022 polls that had an undecided option and then lost by 20%.
