I don't expect that to happen in my lifetime.

It will never go away until there is a complete overhaul in the Supreme Court. Even if it did somehow pass the required legislation the present SP would find someway to stop or slow it down.

It requires 38 states to change the Constitution. This means a lot of the states we need to fix this shit are the ones that benefit from it.
