Say what you want about Liz and Dick Cheney, and there's alot to say about them,

but I admire them putting country over party, but that's not to say that they've redeemed themselves, but I'll take their endorsements every time as it gives cover to those "sane" republicans to cross party lines and vote for VP Harris to preserve our hard fought Democracy.

The enemy of my enemy is, temporarily, my ally.

I think that now that both Cheney's have come out, quite vocally, it will make it easier for GW Bush to come out and endorse VP Harris, which, IMHO, will open the floodgates for repigs to jump off the fence and vote for the Harris/Walz ticket.
Of course, this is only my opinion and I freely admit that I may be wrong.

Bush knows he was a fuck-up and just wants everyone to forget he ever existed. Now, W. has to make a public stand.

His nephew lost when he challenged Ken Paxton in 2022. His nephew gave up his position as Land Commissioner to run against Paxton.

I think Bush wants to revive the old moderate GOPs. I see where Perry has Dade Phelan's team. Phelan is going to fight to keep the speakership to squash voucher bills. It's gonna be real hard.

Under Bush and Perry, Texas wasn't too bad. Yeah, Perry said a bunch of shit, but he didn't try to trash public education and voting. He didn't advocate a vigilante abortion law. He actually put the state's wind program. He didn't promote bathroom bills. The Texas GOP has gone apeshit crazy.

“If you want to live like a Republican, vote for a Democrat.”

Which has proven to be profoundly true with the revelations of Project 2025 and all that has transpired since.

There’s only one rational choice for those who believe in democracy and the United States in this election. Sitting it out, is NOT a choice.

The only other choice leads to becoming a subject in an unstable dictatorship helmed by a vengeful sadistic sociopath and those who he finds convenient or amusing for the time being. However long that would last until it collapsed into complete anarchy and chaos.

they are choosing country over party, and that is something I can admire even as I vehemently oppose their policies.

For all of their posturing they still supported 99% of what tfg did while in office.

The enemy of my enemy is never my friend, when they ally with me it’s for their own purposes which are not in concert with mine, and they need to be watched very, very carefully.
