Get Ready for Vance

It’s clear. Trump is declining rapidly.

The powers that be among current “Republican” power brokers are planning for an alternative. They have in JD Vance, a problematic candidate, yes, but a kindred spirit. Someone they already work with. Can depend on. If only they can get him on the throne. Well, he’s perfectly positioned for that.

When Trump is dethroned, or “strokes”, flees, or actually kaks, the PTBs and Vance will have exactly the advantages Kamala has enjoyed. A fundamentally changed campaign with a new candidate at its head. A constrained timeline where money together with media collaboration can create an entirely new mindscape. And they have at least the money to match Kamala’s recent haul. Never mind how large little donations loom in her warchest. Money is money and they mint the stuff.

Watch how a Vance out of the shadow of Trump becomes a completely different person. The epitome of compassionate conservatism, rational. All that other crazy misogynistic stuff, I was just pretending so I could get in a position to save the country with ‘rational conservatism’. You know, the “Old Republican Party” you used to love. I’m bringing it back!

Or maybe they won’t bother with pretenses. They’re so brazen they might portray Vance as the only thing standing between you, people-of-the-base, and Armageddon. Who knows? Things have gotten weird and most things are possible.

The point: (and I do have one): When I think of an October Surprise, I think of American oligarchs and Vance.

Maybe they are so sold on their plan to have the House decide the election that they just don’t care., They sure seem to not care about a whole lot of important stuff. They’re super solid on promoting their own interest, though, and Vance looks like their ticket to ride.

But getting the egomaniacal one off the stage is no small task!

And from what I can tell he has so rubbished the working parts of the former party that there are probably only 17 of them still actively engaged who can walk and chew gum in sequence, never mind simultaneously.

The next six weeks will likely require a separate chapter in our history books.

Vance is so utterly unlikable the hardcore will vote for him but not the Maga.
Democrats, women, blacks and others despise him and will not vote for him.
He’s not a kinder gentler trump, he’s a smarmy stupid quisling. Peter Thiel should have picked a more affable person. He can join Ron Desantis at the clueless table.

Zero. He owns the party, he is the party. The MAGAts don’t like Vance either. They were really salty when he was chosen.

Unless that asshole drops dead he’s the guy.

And he’s the guy for as long as he wants to be or is able.

All it took was a bad debate performance and just a few weeks later the campaign was transformed.

I said in a long ago post that I didn't think Trump would make it to the general, and that could still be proved true. What incredible strangeness happens after that? Vance has to be front and center.

They think this will upset us, stop us from winning, put the campaign in disarray. As if. You have to know the Harris people are on top of this. Nothing is too low for Republicans, and we need to keep kicking them in the teeth.

They're weird and creepy. Somewhere a sofa is crying, wondering why it got dumped for Trump. Boo hoo.

I'm quite willing to believe that the billionaire oligarchs (especially Peter Thiel, Vance's manufacturer) and the Christian Nationalists see Vance and a much more useful and less erratic stooge than Trump.

But there's no fucking way Vance is more electable that Trump.

Trump, of course, shouldn't be considered electable by any sane standard, but Trump's cult of personality isn't sane, and is not easily transferable.

Vance utterly lacks charisma, not even the weird flavor of charisma that MAGAts like. Whatever small extra appeal Vance might have to independents and never-Trump Republicans, there aren't enough extra votes to be found there to match the huge loss of diehard Trumper votes that would occur.

Remember that many Trumpers are conspiratorial nut cases. Trump could die a completely natural death yet very, very few of them would believe it. They'd be sure he was assassinated and immediately suspect Vance as being in on it, in secret collusion with Democrats and/or reptilian overlords and/or Jewish bankers, etc. etc.

Try this one on:

Trump knows he’s done for in the courts if loses the election. He’ll have to sit through endless proceedings or be jailed outright. No kind of life for Trump.

Trump is no fool (oh stop it). He’s thinking about alternate endings. Maybe he figures an acceptable outcome is the quiet life of a mental patient in home care at Mar a Lago. Maybe he’s playing multi level chess and is simultaneously trying to steal the election AND developing an insanity defense . You know, Dementia! He’s displaying all the symptoms. What if it’s a nefarious plan?

Ooooh! Goosebumps!

we will see the first unanimously elected President, with all of the electoral votes, since Washington.

OK, that's a little exaggerated. But not much. Vance doesn't have the character or the support to sustain what Harris is sustaining right now.

34. Trump drops out, chaos reigns
Sun Sep 8, 2024, 01:26 PM

Here’s another too plausible nightmare scenario.

Trump drops out. Either he’s forced to by someone who has the goods on him, he decided a dementia defense is the only way to keep him out of jail and dropping out is a ploy for that, whatever.

Trump drops out and it’s only days or weeks before the election. The right wing coup machine starts complaining that their candidate hasn’t had a chance to campaign. It’s unfair!, they wine, Loudly and in chorus.

The legislatures that are already half way to agreeing to not certify the election take this as their cue to do exactly that. The election gets thrown to the House. Kaboom. Vance.
