Seems he's simply making it "official".

The guy's 'claim to fame' was being the lawyer for the guy that was suspected of killing his wife (she was in a coma and later died, under 'mysterious' circumstances). Claus Von Bulow and his wife Sonny.

They made a movie out of it. It is called "Reversal of Fortune" (1990). It had Jeremy Irons as Claus, Glenn Close as Sonny, and Ron Silver (who was another "Democrat" turned Repuke after 9/11) as Alan Dershowitz.
