was the applause at the end... from people that absolutely know this was a word salad pile of gibberish. A room full of economists who know that tariffs are a consumer tax... a regressive tax... that hits the poor and middle class with a much higher tax percentage increase than it does the wealthy. And who SHOULD know that the reduced purchasing power of the poor and middle class threatens the entire economy, including the wealthy.

I took some college level econ courses... had professors beg me to major in econ... instead of pure math and computer science. And I laughed at their "pseudo science / pseudo math" field. My opinion has not changed in the last 40 years.
