What The October Surprise Could Be

Endorsements!

I know I will get blow back for the significance of endorsements, but they can snowball to an avalanche.

We need former military leaders to step forward.
We need more former political leaders to step forward.
We need more former big name Republicans to step forward.
We need more business leaders to step forward.
We need the Teamsters to step forward.

This avalanche of endorsements leads right to the narrative of country over party.

I saw another post today that was similar, it was called a purple wave, Republicans uniting with Democrats to save our democracy.

2. Endorsements from prominent Republicans are extremely important

It gives squishy Republicans a permission structure to cross their "straight ticket" voting habits and vote not for party, but for country.

The Cheneys coming out and saying they're voting for the Democratic nominee for POTUS was HUGE.

Liz, who apparently lives in TX(?) is going a step further and voting for Colin Allred over Ted Cruz (himself a squishy GOPer when it came to Trump in 2016).

Any GOP candidate who supports, or is supported by Trump, should suffer similar fates.

MAGA needs to die a quick death as a movement in order to save our democracy.

... is deftly walking a very fine line between advocating fan enthusiasm for getting out the vote, and formally endorsing the Harris-Walz campaign, which I'm sure she supports. She also has a business to run, with hundreds of people dependent on her decisions. I'm sure she is mindful of the raging wood chipper of public opinion that the Dixie Chicks encountered, though their troubles were the result of a rejection of Dubya, not a formal endorsement of Gore. She is a very smart woman juggling multiple running chainsaws.
Vice President Harris is another very smart woman, who I'm sure would prefer to have support based on an educated understanding of the issues and the stark differences between her view of what America can be, versus what Trump and his supporters would impose, rather than one based on who an entertainer told her fans – mostly young women, many of whom are not yet of voting age – they should support.

But that's just me.

But it would cause Trump to say all sorts of horrible things that would alienate even more people. Besides being beautiful she is very successful. An actual billionaire who started with nothing (relatively speaking).

Since it is ISIS that is targeting her, the only way to protect her fans is to stop holding concerts.

She wont do that. It would cost her far too much.

The claim she is walking a fine line for the safety of her fans is garbage.

It is a financial decision.

Since it is ISIS that is targeting her, and since ISIS doesnt care about her stance, the only way to positively protect her fans is to stop holding concerts.

She wont. She shouldnt.

But the risk from the magaverse is more rhetoric than physical.

And have been for well over a decade.

The shows were canceled, because of a plot by ISIS.

It not entirely her decision, but im sure she was ok with it.

Her music was always a fresh perspective, highly progressive in a womans rights sort of way.

Yeah, she had her mushy stuff, but she also had songs like mean.

The songs just resonated much more than 80% of the formula country-pop that is out there.
