Having been to many debates where Tim Walz had basically obliterated his Republican opponents when running for Congress or for Governor, Tim Walz left his opponents standing with deer-in-the-headlights looks on their faces, totally oblivious of the beatings they underwent. JD Vance will be no different. For when I first went to a debate between Tim Walz and then 1st CD Rep. Gil Gutknecht in 2006 , Gil had that look of confidence that he could not be outwitted. By the end, Tim had Gil looking like a crumpled suit and not looking so smug. Over the years, Tim grew to not only be an efficient legislator, but a VERY EFFECTIVE Debater. Nothing gets by Tim. His retorts are quick and precise. That is the Teacher in him. The Command Sargent Major will show up as well as the Coach. There will be plenty of fireworks. Tim also knows NOT TO UNDERESTIMATE an opponent. Give them just enough rope to hang themselves with.
What say you?

(18,408 posts)Tim is the type of person who holds the door open for you if you cannot.
Tim is comfortable in hugging those he knows well. I get bear hugs every time I see him. From Gwen too.
Tim is humble and knows that it was from his hard work and dedication to a goal, he is where he is today because of that. That is called VISION.
Tim's ability to use the facts to his advantage is a skill he learned in the classroom. Often when he is asked what prepared him for the Offices he has held, his answer was "Life prepared me and all that goes with it." THIS is a man who effectively thinks on his feet.

(58,465 posts)Of course, couchfucker won't know (or care) that he lost. His mission, in large part, is to embarrass the United States in a big way on the international stage for pootin. He accomplishes that every day, along with tfg.
But...
WE WILL NOT GO Back!

(18,408 posts)Before a live audience. Tim was spectacular, especially when it came to the issue of privatization of Social Security. Tim tore Gil Gutknecht a new one and on Iraq as well. I was at that debate as well.
Tim went on to defeat Gil in 2006. The rest is history. 8-0 is his record.

(8,234 posts)Vance may follow the Bannon playbook and "flood the zone with shit". Or he may think he can actually outsmart Walz on the issues and engage. It could go either way. A draw is always better than a loss, and Republicans are skilled at salvaging or spinning a loss into a perceived draw. They have to be really lucky to win like Trump did, but shit happens.
