Saw a stealth MAGA at Walmart the other day...

For starters, I do live in a blue state, but in a purple area of the state. In years past I've seen plenty of trump paraphenalia and MegaMAGA trucks with flags, etc but not so much lately.

So I was helping my brother out with his shopping. He was in his wheelchair, I was pushing the grocery cart. We came down the aisle toward the bakery area because he needed some bread. As we approached, I noticed an elderly man coming toward us. I didn't think much about him, lots of people around and all, and he had a black ball cap on. Just another guy, I first thought. But as I got closer I saw the text on his cap in gray, so it didn't stand out much, but you could read it. "Make America Great Again" spelled out in all caps.

I didn't interact or say anything to him, but it was kind of curious to me. The norm was to stand out, you know bright red with bold text. Are trumpies going subtle now because they realize they are outnumbered? I don't know, but I won't be "happy" until there aren't any of them around.

that during off-year elections, GOP candidates began leaving the (R) off their yard signs, flyers, and mailings.

Somehow thinking we wouldn’t notice…

I don't see big glorious TRUMP flags or maga hats, even in major T areas that were bespattered with the stuff in 2020.

I have to wonder:
is this a Zeitgeist thing, where they all spontaneously felt they had to hide their secret identity?
or did some sort of instruction make its way through various channels, to lay low?

If the latter, could that be part of a guerilla war type prep?

it sounds like a MAGA hat was dyed black to repurpose it and the lettering didn't absorb the dye as well as the rest of the hat. Hat might have been given to the guy by someone or the guy might be a former MAGA who wanted to remove or obscure the hat's message.

It was a nice jacket, but had the company name of a former employer on it. I wanted to wear it as a general purpose jacket, no name label. But, I could not get the name to blend in with the rest of the fabric and disappear.

It was in very good condition so I could not bring myself to throw it out. I donated it to the Salvation Army. Maybe someone who didn't mind the slightly visible company name (after I tried to obliterate it) would want it.
