Police say they arrested a woman after her 6-year-old son brought a gun to school in Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Memphis police have arrested a woman after her 6-year-old son brought a gun to his school.

According to local news outlets, the 22-year-old woman faces several charges including carrying a weapon on school property and child neglect or endangerment.

An affidavit says Memphis police officers responded to an armed party call at Geeter K-8 School on Thursday. The school’s resource officer said the student was showing the Ruger 9mm handgun to other students in his class. A staff member later confiscated the gun after finding it in the student’s backpack.

Police also say the handgun was reported stolen after they checked the serial number. Court documents show the woman said she bought the gun from “an unknown person.”

The woman was booked into Shelby County jail and released without bond. She was expected in court Friday.

I'd like 22+6 (28) years in prison for her. One year for each year they've both been on earth. jimfields33 Sep 7 #5
That's Memphis for you, sadly. #10 most danderous city in the WORLD. The only US city to make the top ten. SheltieLover Sep 7 #2
Dang. What a mess. Time for new leadership in the city clearly. jimfields33 Sep 7 #6

Hopefully upon release, she’ll be more responsible.

Whats the governors plan to change it? A clean house mentality may be necessary. How embarrassing for Americans to have a city on the most violent cities in the world.

Jan. 6, 2021: A man who happens to be a lame-duck president incites a mob to attack the US Capitol in an attempted coup against the government he swore an oath to "preserve, protect, and defend." Violence ensued. People were injured and killed. Threats against the lives of the US vice president and members of Congress were made. The man behind it all was never arrested. Instead, he's running for president of the United States.

Sept. 7, 2024: A six-year-old brings a gun to school. No one is harmed. The boy's mother is arrested almost immediately.

Justice for all?

Everyone is equal under the law?

And now the felon convicted on 34 counts has had his sentencing delayed . . . again . . . until AFTER the election.

Justice delayed, MLK said, is justice denied.

Justice is blind? No. Its eyes are wide open, and if it sees old man Trump, it winks and turns the other way.
