Advertising on NYC RW Radio

Interesting to note that WABC-AM is not broadcasting more variety and quality commercial advertisers. The hosts have some ratings to brag about, but still, advertisers seem to be drawn to less controversial stations.* At any time of the day, WABC commercials are mostly buying/selling/investing in gold & silver, Goya beans and a local Mazda dealership.

By comparison, the only NYC (AM) All-News Station, WINS, has a respectable cadre of commercial advertisers such as Mount Sinai Hospital, Valley Hospital, Oxcare Warranty, and national Nissan Motors.

I surmise that without necessary commercial revenue, the bills are being directly paid by Red Apple Media and its owner, John Catsimatidis.

* Are businesses keeping their distance from WABC because their advertising might result in boycotts by non-MAGA listeners?

The SEC/FTC/FBI needs to look into some of those silver/gold investment schemes, imo. yellowcanine Sep 7 #8

You have WNBC at 660 kHz.
You have WABC at 770 kHz.

You know where a great place to put an all-news station — a CBS affiliate would be appropriate — would be? 880 kHz.

You could call it WCBS.
