ABOUT that website: A helpful tip

Who runs that site? Is it legit? Can I trust them?

Here's one way to find out: Look for a link to their "ABOUT" page. Most of the time it's linked in the top menu or at the very bottom. For example, here is the ABOUT page for DU:

https://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=aboutus

A proper ABOUT page will tell you who owns it and who runs it. If you can't find an ABOUT page then look for a PRIVACY POLICY age. The PRIVACY POLICY page is supposed to contain contact information for whoever runs the site.

If a website doesn't provide information on who owns it or runs it, chances are the site is up to something shady.
