So, I use postimages more these days.
One interesting fact: When you post to postimages and get the "direct link", it renders very nicely in DU, but if you say, send the link to a friend, they get all the surrounding postimages html. (then again, you can just email most images to friends ... within limits)
With imgbb, I get the "full" picture URL and remove everything up to src=" and anything after the next jpg" in that mess. It's tedious, but everyone gets just the straight image, nothing else.
Another note: most posters here self-limit to under 2 megabytes, because some users do have slow internet connections.
Photo contests used to have a very low size limit but that has been relaxed in the past year or so. Still, under 2 is good for most.
