As I've explained, he never made contact since MrsK or Lil passed.
He said, " Koz, I remember when you first met Mom and us. You and I were having a beer on the patio, and just talking, and you told me you were sorry for the country your generation is leaving for me,( Iraq war was going on) Just wanted to thank you. You barely knew us, and could have that conversation. I've been worrying a bit on how to talk to the girls( my grand children.) , about the shootings. And this conversation popped in my head. I have a few years before I have to talk to them, but I have a template to go by. So, Thanks"
I said, "You're Welcome.
, wait until the birds bees talk comes, but I can't help, you were 18 when I met yall,"
He just laughed, " it's good to hear your voice, can I call once in a while?"
I said ok, of course.
Generations pass, there is always some problem, to talk to our children about. And he is 42 now.
Might take years for them to understand, it's just our job as parents, to plant the seeds.
Humble Koz today.

(20,926 posts)It has been an amazing inspiration to me.
We never know what words, what gestures, what quiet moments will set off the ripples that change someone else's life, even someone generations down the line. Maybe we're not supposed to know, maybe it works better that way.
But the wisest person I know, when in despair and in what I thought were the ashes of my life, I asked "What am I supposed to do NOW?" gave me the answer: "The next right thing, whatever it is, large or small."
Heroes come in many guises and disguises.
appreciatively,

(2,532 posts)I shared, out of necessity, Lil was non- verbal, I had to talk, DU heard. More than a few of DU called, sometimes, I got angry and said things, I shouldn't have, but DU listened.
When I was way down and dark, DU found a way, to have police, knock on my door, because DU listened.
All the, vids, podcasts, that are on DU, when I spoke, DU,
heard.
I thank you all. I try to listen, as well.
My life is ok. I don't always agree, with my God, who put me here, but, I'm here. And I thank God,
DU listened.
TY, DU
