Breaking: Several people have been shot near Interstate 75 in Laurel County, Kentucky, according to the Laurel County Sheriffs office. I-75 is closed at mile marker/Exit 49, and U.S. 25, nine miles north of London due to an active shooter situation, the sheriffs office said in a post on Facebook. Numerous persons have been shot near I-75.

In a post on X, Gov. Andy Beshear wrote: Kentucky, we are aware of a shooting on I-75 in Laurel County. Law enforcement has shut the interstate down in both directions at exit 49. Please avoid the area. We will provide more details once they are available.
London, Kentucky, is located around 150 miles southeast of Louisville.

An active shooter situation has caused Interstate 75 near London, Kentucky, to be shut down, the Laurel County Sheriff's Office is reporting on social media.
The Facebook post, made around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, says "numerous" people have been shot.
The shutdown is near Exit 49 and U.S. Route 25, about nine miles north of London, according to officials. Laurel County is about 90 miles south of Lexington in Eastern Kentucky. It has a population of about 62,000 and includes part of the Daniel Boone National Forest.
Gov. Andy Beshear acknowledged the situation in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

I'm aware of his stint on RSBN, but he also was a writer for SNL and has redeemed himself from his RSBN days with AFTV. He doesn't wear politics on his sleeve, but doesn't advocate for either side.

Police have identified a person of interest in the Kentucky I-75 shooting who is considered armed and dangerous, according to a London, Kentucky, Police Department Facebook post.
Joseph A. Couch is described as a 32-year-old White male about 5-foot-10 and weighing approximately 154 pounds, the police department says.
If you have any information regarding the whereabouts or location on this individual please contact the London-Laurel County 911 Center by calling 911 or 606-878-7000, the post says.
Police warn not to attempt to approach him.
