Polls show a majority of Americans favor it. It would energize the base and make inroads with those who are progressive but straddling the line on voting for Harris because of the Israel/Gaza issue.
But perhaps most importantly, it would cripple Israel's efforts to start a wider war and possibly draw us in before the election. This scenario could be a disaster for the campaign.

AFTER THE ELECTION - - I think it is entirely possible that Harris may have her own methods .. positions to stake out ...
But not at point of a gun and some cheap hold up artists.
