I'm going to be offline for a few days, but I just wanted to say that anyone I've offended in the past few days with my passionate posts regarding the mess in the ME, I do apologize, it's not my intention to piss off DU members, we all want the same thing here, a viable solution to the conflict in the ME and everywhere else.
I love you all and everyone stay frosty and keep our eye on the prize, the election of VP Harris and Gov. Walz and sending the putrid piece of shit to the dustbin of history.
Peace out everyone and I'll see you all later.
Dan.

(74 posts)MCE, looking forward to your return...I've also needed to stand down briefly to recharge, have some chow, clean the carriage, bolt, clips... grab a tour of the rain locker and then retire to the patio to watch hummingbirds...the battle awaits your return...take care of yourself...regarding the ME, nothing good will happen while nobody in charge wants the insanity to stop...cheers, OSD (3 yr FMF HM)

(36,143 posts)It ended on a civil note and with me wondering why I enjoyed arguing (not prickly arguing) with you, even though we didn't agree. I've read yr posts on Gaza/Israel/Lebanon. They don't offend me, but I doubt we'd go more than a few posts before we mutually realised our views are incompatible and we'd sneer at each other a lot and you'd maybe call me a Hamas supporter and I'd go *pfft* and call you a Kahanist. I steer clear of the issue in GD because I've realised that DUers that I think are total ignoramuses on that one issue are the same people who I agree with totally when it comes to just about everything else, with clearly the most pressing issue now being making sure Kamala Harris wins the election and sends the Trumpenfuhrer to obscurity. If ever you do want to have a bit of an argument about the I/P conflict, I've been a resident of the I/P forum since November 2002, and would welcome a buzzword-free discussion in a quieter environment.
Stay safe and well, and know that most Australians are hoping that Harris and Walz win this election. I'm following it much more closely than I have any previous US election...

(18,924 posts)Hard to do right now, but so important.
I have not been in any threads about the ME lately so I don't have anything to be mad about, but I doubt that I'd be upset about anything you've said. Whatever you did say I'm sure was said in good faith and real concern about what's going on over there, and I could never fault you for that, even if I disagreed about some of the specifics.
Until you return, you stay frosty, too, and keep the faith. We ARE going to win win this thing. I keep telling myself that, because I can't bear to contemplate any other outcome - but at least part of me really does believe it.
I will close with this, because I think the Marines have THE best slogan in the world: Semper fi!

(5,125 posts)actually sounds like a good idea. My thing is, if I don't like something someone posts, I can skip to the next post if I don't have an argument to refute their point.
We all have opinions and should be able to voice them, whether or not we agree.
