Once more into the breach, dear friends, once more

As far as I am concerned the campaigning is over and after this weekend we begin the battle to Get Out the Vote with an effort that perhaps has never been equaled. We must do that. It is imperative for the survival of our democracy, more so than ever before.

My first efforts at GOTV were in 1964 when I walked the streets of Teaneck, New Jersey for the LBJ campaign, getting people registered to vote. Since then i have distributed campaign literature, knocked on doors, written post cards, phone banked, ran for office as a Democrat 4 times (won twice), seDrved as a local campaign chair serveral times, a poll watcher on election days, helped raise money for campaigns, etc.

This year my old legs won't let me go door to door nor will my old ears let me make phone calls or work at the polls. But I can still write post cards, drive people to the polls and do many other things to help out. I urge each of you to make a plan for the month leading upto election day. Do just one thing to help make the Democratic turnout higher than ever before. Call your local Democratic Club or Party and tell them you are available and they will find something important for you to do to make it happen. Don't leave it up to others. You must do it yourself.

I don't know about anyone else, but I am fired up and ready to go. I cannot wait until this is over with.

What I wish people would realize is that this fight won’t be over when we win the election. Project 2025 will still be there. White Christian Nationalism will still be a threat. It’s all based on fascism. Everything in the future will be a battle to get rid of what’s there and hold the ground. Expand the Supreme Court. The first step should be to tax churches and billionaires until they don’t have enough spare cash to support these causes. And eliminate money from politics, foreign and dark.

be crucial. I fully expect that when things don't go the GQP way they are going to mount a massive election official obstruction and legal barrage strategy to negate absentee/early ballots. Our turnout has to be huge to overcome this because I expect the radical MAGA element on the SC to help them strike at least some ballots. Combined with whatever lunacy takes place at the DeJoy Post Office it could become a real mess. I anticipate on Election Day that the phony stories and claims will be a constant barrage.

Boots on the ground in Hunterdon County to carve out every single vote we can get for Altman. Its not just Harris - but the House and Senate. Senate is almost a job for life in NJ.

But the House? You've been around a long time in NJ - and I'm sure you remember why we had the pre-disclosure in the now defunct VRA. . . Tom Kean Sr and Roger Stone's illegal shenanigans in the 81 Gubernatorial race.

Kean the younger has gotta go. Apple didn't fall far from the tree with that one. Hope Altman can ride Harris' coat tails.

It's all about the ground game now and getting out the vote. We have a massive volunteer platform and matching infrastructure because of the Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and Democratic Party's campaign efforts. We have the enthusiasm, mounting registrations, impressive donations and great candidates working their hearts out.

Last and most important step?

Herding all of those advantages to the ballot box and securing the vote.

And I'm with you. I can't wait until this is over and done. I can't wait until Donald Trump and his Flying Monkey Brigade are a twisted memory.

We're going to do this!
