We can finally escape his darkness
Dr. Stephanie Lovely and Scott Dworkin
Oct 05, 2024
This a guest post from one of my favorite writers, Dr. Stephanie Lovely. I hope you enjoy. Onward! Scott
In the earliest hours of the morning, Wednesday November 9, 2016, I listened to the radio as I drove back from an election party held for Democratic Party volunteers. I shook when results came in, as the deep, belligerent voices of Trump supporters chanted Call it! Call it! Call it!
Throughout the night, I cried. I curled up in my bed, wondering who was outside the walls of my apartment.
How many of my neighbors voted for a man who boasted about assaulting women, and encouraged violence and hate against vulnerable populations?
How many juiced up frat boys were roaming around campus celebrating their ideological win?

I stayed up all night watching stupid TV.
It's rough to relive it, but the reminder is important because we know that he is worse than we even thought he was on that day.
It can never happen again.

Sure would be the cherry on top if he did go to prison.

(68,594 posts)5. Within just a few days, I think, of the election, I heard a report about some guy in
a city with a large Muslim population, going around yanking off women's hijabs and bellowing "THAT AIN'T ALLOWED N'MORE!"
I was horrified, like every decent human being was who heard about it. But I was also gobsmacked that he thought he had the right or some kind of authority to do that. Battery acid is less corrosive than Trumpism...
